The writings of Paul correcting churches, the writings in Matthew talking about the authority given the church (singular), the writings of Acts showing central leadership and distribution of binding letters to outlying churches, the writings of St Ignatius of Antioch, and countless other examples, refute the idea of single autonomous “non denominational” churches. The further idea that disagreement sows division into disagreeing but equally valid entities is both logically and historically inaccurate.
