Gather Us In - Sung in Latin

Ouch. That song doesn’t belong in the English language, let alone Latin. Yikes.
 
Quid juvat? (What’s the point? [literally “What does it serve?”])

Amen to that. I live in Dallas and that song is common at the youth Mass at a couple of nearby churches. The youth singers whine and hew out the folksy lines of this song with their guitars a strummin’. They also are attired in torn jeans and dirty t-shirts.

Good observation from another poster about taking the non-sacred and trying to make it look sacred. Aghh! Is that felt on the wall???

Heh, oddly enough, the Youth Masses got rid of that travesty first round here (and they say the youth is lost!), but it was IIRC only when the new priest came that it got excised from the other ones.

Amusing, yes, but take note…this is just the beginning of an emerging trend I’ve been noticing here and there. That is, the masking of non-traditional things, by wrapping them in a traditional context. Keep your eyes peeled.
 
Wording sounds alright. Pacing, not bad. But the singer is BADLY off key.

This has to be a sacrilege of some sort. :D:D

It’s a good exercise, though. But then so was my gym class when we counted off in Latin.🙂
