Gaudete Sunday: Violet or Rose?

Unfortunately, in some places, rose is replaced with various shades of pink; of which I have heard “Pepto-Bismol” Pink and “Shower Curtain” Pink.

If you’re going to do Rose – and I hope you do – make sure that it is ROSE!!! You DON’T want your Pastor looking like a cheap, Wal-Mart Shower Curtain!!!

:nope: BLUE! :nope: , just like it has been for the previous two weeks of Advent!!!
 
Ours was wearing the something close to the “middle pinkish rose” that AJV posted. The associate pastor wore the - is it a stole? Looks like a scarf draped on the shoulders :o and it was the same color with a rose embroidery design on it. Not in like a flowery way though, it was quite nice.

Alas, it is true. 😦 See more here. One could argue that it is a purplish-sort-of-blue, but it really is not.

It is such a shame. The parish building is newly constructed and they really dropped the ball in most details. Father is a good man…he gives nice homilies but otherwise he is terribly irreverent during the Mass. It nearly makes me weep…
 
Well, at the Mass at which I served, the priest wore violet. I think I just might have worn a rose stole or even a rose dalmatic if there had been one there - though rose is certainly not my color, I’m a big, red-headed, bearded guy with a very fair complexion.

I have seen the “table-cloth” or “shower-curtain” pink. Not exactly rose, is it? In fact, I’ve seen a “vestment” that was made from table-cloth material - I don’t know if it was an old table cloth or not, but still.
 
Well the celebrant’s chasuble was red with pink down the middle, another prists stole was pink and the others was purple. It looked like a rainbow up there
