Gaudete Sunday: how was it observed where you attended Mass?

At our abbey, rose chasuble and dalmatic for the abbot and deacon, organ prelude, organ at the offertory, and organ postlude, flowers in the sanctuary, and the chanting of the introit Gaudete in Latin.

Rose colored vestments for the Priests & Deacons, rose colored flowers in the Sanctuary, chanting of Gaudete Introit in Latin, Rejoice entrance Antiphon & the organ music.

I voted none of the above.
Neither our Priest nor our Parish owns Rose vestments for anyone. 😦

Rose colored vestments were worn today, as well as beautiful bell choir played before Mass for the antiphon… maybe to the tune of “Rejoice”… not quite sure? Quite beautiful to say the least…

Father wore the rose colored vestment.
On the altar there were vases of pink carnations and white stephanotis.

Same here, our Pastor commented about not havy Rose vestments, adding, “and, please don’t go out and buy us any!”

We had dozens of leftover roses from the Guadalupe Mass the night before. So there were lots of flowers.

The “band” rocked to “People Get Ready” (the oldie Pop song).

Not my home parish.

No rose vestments. This has come up before and I understand the economics of not having rose vestments for twice Mass a year.

Our parish does not own an organ yet, so none was used. The rest, yes.
Rejoice! For our savior is coming!

The abbey in a way is lucky in that sense; one of the monks designs vestments and sells them to the secular clergy. So they have an in-house source.

Still, only the abbot (principal celebrant) and the deacon had rose vestments. The rest of the concelebrants (can be up to 20 or so if there are visiting priests) wore purple stoles. It wouldn’t make economic sense to have rose vestments for the concelebrants for only twice a year, so I understand your argument.

This would be something nice to remember for those threads where people ask "what is a good gift for my pastor?
Or for an ordination.

No rose vestments. But there was a rose colored candle in the Advent Wreath.

Our young priest did mention during his sermon that it was Gaudete Sunday, and then proceeded to tell everyone that “gaudete” was the latin word for “rejoice.”

Tawny, sounds wonderful. I long for a parish like that.

Are you serious? If so, I would never have returned to such a place.
I’m serious.

It’s a Sunday Evening Mass that supposedly reaches out to youth, but the hard , honest truth is that 80-90% of the people there are middle-aged or elderly. It’s the Mass that people in this city go to if they missed earlier in the day.
