California Gov. Gavin Newsom attended a party last week that violated his own government’s guidelines limiting the number of people who can attend a social gathering during the coronavirus pandemic, the San Francisco Chronicle reported Friday.

The Chronicle noted:
Gov. Gavin Newsom attended a birthday party for one of his political advisers last week that included people from several households, the type of gathering his administration has discouraged during the coronavirus pandemic.

The dinner the night of Nov. 6 at the famed French Laundry in Yountville in Napa County brought together at least 12 people to celebrate the 50th birthday of Jason Kinney, a longtime friend and political adviser to Newsom who is also a partner at the lobbying firm Axiom Advisors. In addition to the governor, his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, was in attendance. . . .
. . . On Friday, the state issued guidelines for the Thanksgiving holiday, limiting gatherings to no more than two households. . . .

Sacramento Bee blasts CA Gov. Gavin Newsom for ‘hypocritical fiasco’ after attending party during COVID

‘Haute cuisine hypocrisy is a disaster for the state’s’ COVID-19 efforts the paper declared

By Joseph A. Wulfsohn| Fox News

The editorial board of The Sacramento Bee blasted California Gov. Gavin Newsom for attending a party as the state continues to battle the coronavirus outbreak.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported on Friday that Newsom attended an outdoor birthday celebration for political adviser Jason Kinney with at least a dozen attendees at the French Laundry, an upscale restaurant in Napa Valley.

The report came the same day Newsom – as well as Oregon Gov. Kate Brown and Washington Gov. Jay Inslee – announced a travel advisory for visitors leaving and entering their respective states ahead of Thanksgiving as the state experiences a spike in COVID-19 cases.

The Bee stung the Democratic governor with a scathing editorial slamming the tone-deaf soiree.

PELOSI RESPONDS TO BACKLASH AFTER VIRAL TWEET SHOWS HER PLANNING FANCY DINNER FOR NEW DEMOCRATS IN CONGRESS

“A meal at the famed French Laundry restaurant in Yountville costs around $350 per person, not including wine. It typically features nine courses, not counting the ‘amuse-bouche,’ which is a ritzy French term for appetizers,” the editorial board began. "We certainly hope Gov. Gavin Newsom and his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, enjoyed their dinner at the Michelin-starred restaurant on Nov. 6. Because it will end up costing a lot more than $700 in terms of damage to Newsom’s credibility in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nothing will launder the stain of stupidity from his reputation . . .

The editorial declared “this is a bad look for an elected official at any time, but especially during a pandemic that has claimed more than 18,000 lives in California and devastated the state’s economy”…

CHICAGO MAYOR DEFENDS APPEARING AT LARGE BIDEN CELEBRATION DAYS BEFORE ISSUING THANKSGIVING LOCKDOWN

“It’s no secret that the Newsoms have tons of money, but it’s très gauche of them to flaunt it at a time like this,” the Bee wrote.

The Bee called out the “stunning hypocrisy” of Newsom “eschewed state public health guidelines to dine with friends” when he urged Californians to “scale back Thanksgiving plans.”

"Newsom’s haute cuisine hypocrisy is a disaster . . .

…The board continued, “Two years into his first term, and nine months into the COVID-19 pandemic, Newsom still can’t get his act together. If Newsom can’t get his head into the game, perhaps he should make this governor thing a one-term affair and leave the job open for someone with a desire to lead.”…

When Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) apologized this week after he was caught violating his own social-distancing rules to attend a crowded dinner party, he told the public the dinner party was held in “an outdoor restaurant…”

Fox 11 in Los Angeles has since received photos of the cozy dinner party and this is what News some described as “outdoors.”

Newsom’s office is not disputing that these photos are indeed him at this birthday party, which was held at a ritzy place called The French Laundry.

The governor’s office did point to a Town & Country write up of the French laundry and said that the place Newsom where was seated was described as “outdoors” in the write up.

. . . “It got louder and louder and so they had some sliding glass doors that they were able to close, so then it was a closed-off room but you could still hear them with how loud they were,” she told Fox 11.

You can see the Town & Country photo at the 2:05 mark in the video . . .

. . . that’s a pretty sketchy definition of outdoors. When Newsom said “outdoors,” I think we all we pictured open air, not him being enclosed on every side but one. And this woman claims that one open side was eventually sealed.

And let’s not forget the most important thing…

While Newsom’s canceling everyone’s Thanksgiving, he’s violating social distancing rules, sitting elbow-to-elbow with a bunch of people — and not to enjoy a moment with kith and kin and hearth and home, but to party [with lobbyists] (https://calmatters.org/commentary/2020/11/california-newsom-lobbyist-french-laundry/).

This is just more proof that the very same Democrats who are locking everyone down do not themselves believe the virus is that dangerous. If they did, they wouldn’t risk contracting it and bringing it home. . .

And it’s not just Newsom. Nancy Pelosi is 80 and not only running around in enclosed spaces without a mask, but planning lavish indoor dinner parties.

Dianne Feinstein is 87 and twice now has been caught without a mask.

Are you trying to tell me that someone in their 80s would risk contracting this virus if it was anywhere near as dangerous as they tell us it is? They’re locking us down again …

When I saw the pictures …my first thought was …wait, he said it was an outdoor dinner in his “i’m sorry - not sorry” remarks 🤔🤔😳🤣🤣

Report: California Medical Association Execs Joined Gavin Newsom at ‘French Laundry’ Party

Leading California Medical Association officials reportedly joined Gov. Gavin Newsom at the elite “French Laundry” restaurant for a lobbyist’s birthday party on Nov. 6.

As Breitbart News reported, Newsom apologized at a press conference Monday for attending the party, which appeared to flout his own administration’s suggested restrictions on social gatherings.

Newsom claimed he was seated in an outdoor area of the restaurant. After the press conference, photos of the party surfaced showing a maskless Newsom seated at a table with a large number of guests. . . .

. . . California Medical Association officials were among the guests seated next to Gov. Gavin Newsom at a top California political operative’s opulent birthday dinner at the French Laundry restaurant this month. CEO Dustin Corcoran and top CMA lobbyist Janus Norman both joined the dinner at the French Laundry, an elite Napa fine dining restaurant, to celebrate the 50th birthday of lobbyist . . .

While Newsom and Kinney’s lobbying firm have said the meal abided by public health rules, it has struck a chord with Californians who have assailed the upscale soiree as hypocritical as coronavirus cases surge.

It has been an all to common reported sight, Democrats pushing harsh economic lock downs, but then not following the same rules as they advocate for others to follow.

That’s exactly right Roselle.

And Tucker is absolutely right about their distain for the common man. Which is WHY these guys keep doing this over and over again. And it is quite “in your face”. (Restaurants, airports, the streets in broad daylight, etc.)

And their “disciples” don’t say a critical word (with a few exceptions).
These were the same people who just a few weeks ago were pretending they were concerned over the life and death aspects of Trump out in public.

But their actions (selective) tell me otherwise.
Their actions tell me it was about politics.
Their actions tell me power is the goal over lives (that’s the way it is for murdering pre-born innocent babies too. So blowing off lives here for more power, should not be a surprise).

Talked to an acquaintance in CA last night. He said everyone is steaming mad over this, especially since the latest pictures came out. Even the ultra-progressive LA Times is piling on. Given Newsom’s autocratic takeover of the state is only being challenged by a couple of maverick Republican legislators, it seems the Democrats there have no spine to restrain their governor. The hope was expressed that someone would start a recall petition against Newsom.

With the pictures, the people get a small revelation of their guy looking proverbially at them in the face and lying to them.

An “outdoor” restaurant indeed.

Gavin Newsom: California COVID Curfew, 10p-5a, Starting Nov. 21, for a Month

California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced a curfew Thursday that will run from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., starting Saturday, lasting for a month, in “purple tier” counties hardest hit by the coronavirus surge, covering 94% of the state’s population. . . .

. . . Newsom had floated the idea of a curfew on Monday, as quoted by Breitbart News . . .

. . . The curfew would expire just days before Christmas.

I’m “betting” the curfew gets extended through Christmas and beyond.

Trump supporters descend on California’s Capitol after Democrat governor issues stay at home order

Someone from CA just passed me this website: there is an active recall campaign for Newsom. Further it just got new legs from this episode and the accompanying lockdown announcements. It’s almost halfway toward getting the required votes to be placed on the ballot.

There is precedent for governor recalls in CA: Gray Davis was recalled in 2003 on the heels of the electricity crisis of the early 2000’s. They weren’t all his fault, but he certainly bungled his opportunities to do right by Californians who found their energy bills doubling and even tripling during that time. The recall killed his career.

Says here Newsom will be in the fight of his life if the recall gets on the ballot.

So I’m told are rumors afoot that Newsom might abandon ship here and get himself appointed Senator to replace Harris. He could do that by resigning his governorship and then getting Lt. Governor Kounalakis to appoint him to fill Harris’ seat. Dirty pool, but then CA has always had its share of dirty politics. When Biden and Harris are certified winners, watch this space…

Award-winning journalist Adam Housley – a previous Emmy, AP, and RTNDA recipient – claimed, Monday, that California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s infamous dinner at Yountville’s The French Laundry was even worse than what was initially reported.

In an explosive tweet on Monday, the former Fox News correspondent claimed that the dinner that Newsom attended had 22 guests, not 12, and ran up a bar bill of over $15k. Masks were not worn, he said.

“Because Yountville is my hometown…and where the French Laundry is located…I thought I’d do some digging. Facts about the Newsom dinner. The bar bill was around 15-thousand. 22 people in attendance, not 12. No masks. All indoors. They got so loud, other patrons complained,” Housley tweeted.

“There was ‘zero effort’ to go outside and there was no social distancing of any type. I’m also told some of those there are now privately laughing at the controversy. . . .

. . . The alleged scandal further developed when it was revealed that top California Medical Association officials were also in attendance at the party.

“CEO Dustin Corcoran and top CMA lobbyist Janus Norman both joined the dinner at the French Laundry, an elite Napa fine dining restaurant, to celebrate the 50th birthday of lobbyist . .

. . . . “The group spent $2.1 million last year lobbying state leaders.”

Last week, California Department of Public Health instituted a curfew, banning all nonessential activities between the hours of 10 PM and 5 AM.

“The virus is spreading at a pace we haven’t seen since the start of this pandemic and the next several days and weeks will be critical to stop the surge. We are sounding the alarm,” Newsom said in a statement. “It is crucial that we act to decrease transmission . . .
