The theology student that was quoted is right. The priest didn’t have canonical authority to refuse communion unless he knew for a fact that the person was unrepentant of a grave sin. Just because someone has participated in a Pride Parade doesnt necessarily mean they have had gay sex.

The individual in question was counseled before the parade not to do so, participated in the parade in a very public manner, a parade openly advocating non-celibate homosexual practices, and you’re thinking they are NOT in mortal sin???

Encouraging others to sin is itself a sin. Better the young man tie himself to an anchor and be thrown overboard than to lead others to sin.
