I hope you are wrong but I suspect you are right.

The parks have gay days. Much of their park cast is very obviously gay. It seems a lot of Disney has been co-opted as “camp”.

The tween TV programs are garbage. The adult TV programs as well. I have figured it was only a matter of time until their kiddie stuff was unwatchable.

I had already objected to the underlying messages of Frozen, and have had many talks with the kids about my objections to the themes and I tend to fall into mocking a little too easy. But I have a lot of daughters who simply adore the theme of sister princesses and they love Anna and Elsa. For that reason, I allow it in our home. But if they go through with what Hollywood is pushing, all Frozen items will be removed from our home. I cannot tolerate them twisting sisterly love and female friendships into yet another sexually perverse scenario.
I completely get the Disney princess thing. Stay to the animated films prior to Pocahontas. We own them all, and they are harmless, good fun.
But when they started with the tween shows, and the “witch” shows, and notice all the Disney kids grow up to be rather inappropriate entertainers…well, I think it’s not the stable place it used to be. God bless. nice to see you today. 🙂

Good luck keeping Frozen out of your life. It somehow crept into ours, though our child doesn’t even know what homosexuality is, so anything SG noticed went right over her head. The day Disney starts explicitly glorifying same-sex relationships, and that day almost surely will arrive sooner than later, is the day we no longer watch new films from them. Please, Pixar and Studio Ghibli, keep it family friendly.

The park “gay days” are unofficial. Although the park will try to make any group welcome, this is particularly true for a group bringing in 30,000 patrons, particularly in the month of October.

I don’t think Queen Elsa is going to find a female romantic companion, but let’s just say it is a vastly more likely possibility than that she will take a vow of poverty, chastity and obedience and join a convent. Why? Because those don’t sell, that’s why. I don’t think we’ll be seeing the royalty who became saints depicted in Disney films for children, either.

What SG notes is definitely possible, and I have a lot of respect for him as a reviewer. That said, several of the points he raises here as problematic have also been raised as pro disability awareness, and as far as Elsa I think that interpretation makes a lot more sense.

My quibbles with Frozen are minor. I don’t think it’s nearly as sinister as some make it out to be.

I am strongly opposed to this. Frozen was already a left-wing film. They now want to make it even more left-wing. We should stand in solidarity against this movement. I signed the petition. I urge all of you opposed to this to do the same. I think Elsa should get a charming prince. The Frozen franchise will redeemed if that happens. Elsa’s prince can be an icon in the crusade against Bolshevism. The person who started the campaign is a teen socialist named Alexis Isabel Moncada. This movement has had Red backing from the very beginning. We will not surrender to the Reds. Do not let them promote Cultural Marxism in Frozen 2.

Yes. You can’t judge a book by who likes to read it, and you particularly can’t accuse an author of intending to convey every “hidden meaning” some lit major claims the author must have intended.

We also live in a time when saying that a sexual proclivity is disordered gets the response, “So, you think I’m crazy? Is that what you’re saying?”
If I were to mention my opinions at work, I’m pretty sure the responses would be: “Are you sure you’re happy here? Wouldn’t you be happier in some other line of work? And by the way, your production has been falling lately. . .”

.

The last thing on my mind when watching a princess movie is the princesses sex life…and it should stay that way.

Oh, yes. I don’t say what I think about these things to certain members of my family, either. I’ve learned to shut up and not toss pearls before swine. Once you’ve had what you have to say trampled under foot and had them turn on you a few times, you wise up. When someone lets you know they don’t want to hear what you have to say on a topic, you learn to take their word for it. I don’t see anything to be gained by netting a shunning, not when it is totally predictable.

If they spout up and try to say the Church teaches something the Church doesn’t teach, I’ll stand in front of the train rather than let that lie stand. Otherwise, once someone has made it clear they’re hostile to the message there gets to be a point where you shake the dust off of your feet and keep moving.

The actress who plays Elsa, Idina Menzel, thinks it would be great if Elsa got a girlfriend. This is not surprising coming from her. She is a leftist who is also an activist for LGBT rights. She is a Russian-American who likely had relatives who fought for the Bolsheviks. The Russian Bolsheviks would have strongly supported giving Elsa a girlfriend.

I don’t know what’s sadder- the garbage these celebrities say or the people who actually take their opinions seriously and treat them like they’re some intellectual geniuses.

When will these people be satisfied? Haven’t they destroyed our society enough? They’re outrageous.
If society is entirely comfortable in endorsing and celebrating the sexual relationship of two men or two women, and entirely comfortable in confirming homosexual relationships as an equal basis for the formation of new family units, then on what conceivable basis could one object to fairy tale romances between a princess and another woman? On what basis could one object to young children’s readers presenting family structures with 2 fathers or two mothers as natural and commonplace?

To say that SSM changes nothing is absurd and naive. It, in fact, demands that a great deal more must change.

Thank you for signing the petition. You are a good man.
Catholics must now realise that this is not the time for turning the other cheek.
It is time to do what Jesus taught us to do in these circumstances.
We must start to upturn tables.
That is, tell the gay activists to stop messing with God’s family.
We will be judged, not only by the things we did, but also by the things we didn’t do and should have done.

Gay activists are lobbying Disney to turn Queen Elsa, in the upcoming Frozen II movie, to be a lesbian.
Last week, the LGBT lobby and liberal Hollywood stood together demanding Disney create Queen Elsa’s character into a lesbian. In fact, they claim, based off of her character views in Frozen, she is already a lesbian and now only needs a girlfriend, according to citizengo.
Citizengo adds: Global media outlets with influence started publishing opinion articles, calling this message “universal… there are women who love women, and that we deserve love stories too.” This unified demand is for Disney to ‘improve its record on representing LGBT people.
Apparantely,GLAAD, a US gay lobby organization and hate-group against Christians, released a statement criticizing the 11 films released by Disney in 2015, “0 appearances of LGBT people” in these animated films.

You may like to visit the following link and add your signature to the 37,000 who are already telling Disney to stop caving into the gay activists.

I’m not a fan of children’s TV etc which seems absolutely determinined to ridicule ‘traditional’ gender roles in the interests of ‘equality’ - must everything contain over achieving macho female figures, effeminate or emasculated male figures and never so much as a nod to the existence of family life.

Why does every single Disney princess have to have a Prince Charming? What’s wrong with praising the love of family? Would it really be the end of the world for her to have a somewhat ambiguous relationship with a woman? Did you know historically in Catholic Europe large sections of the population were never either lay nor part of religious life? Did you know that the love of the friend was extolled and praised above marriage?

Well, the better question is why all the heroes have to be part of the nobility, but that is a question that the experts on myth have to explain. Suffice it to say that there are enduring patterns in how mythology works on the human imagination.

The Greeks praised the love of a friend about marriage, but some of them had some very strange ideas about bringing up boys, too. Why would we take their word over the word of the saints who lived among them and saw their styles of life first-hand?

There is no reason that characters in children’s fairy tales need to wind up married when their adventures end. There is no reason to avoid having heroes are surrounded by friends as their companions, instead.

There* is *a good reason to avoid implying that males and females are interchangeable as romantic interests. They aren’t. There is also a good reason to avoid ambiguity about whether same-sex romantic relationships are morally permissible, because they aren’t. It is not necessary to go to lengths to assure all the listeners that there is no hanky panky going on between any two characters who aren’t married, but Christians ought to avoid “suggestive and silly talk.”

*So be imitators of God, as beloved children, and live in love, as Christ loved us and handed himself over for us as a sacrificial offering to God for a fragrant aroma. Immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be mentioned among you, as is fitting among holy ones, no obscenity or silly or suggestive talk, which is out of place, but instead, thanksgiving. Be sure of this, that no immoral or impure or greedy person, that is, an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty arguments, for because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the disobedient. So do not be associated with them.

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light, for light produces every kind of goodness and righteousness and truth. Try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the fruitless works of darkness; rather expose them, for it is shameful even to mention the things done by them in secret; but everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for everything that becomes visible is light. Therefore, it says: “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.” Watch carefully then how you live, not as foolish persons but as wise, making the most of the opportunity, because the days are evil*. Eph. 5:1-16

Don’t imagine that the “progressives” are inventing anything or suggesting anything the saints have never considered before. We have been here. The holy ones have taken several laps around the farm and gone past this area in the ages that we have passed through before. We have been warned, and we ought not be so arrogant and foolish as to believe that we are above the temptations and thinking we have been warned away from by those who have gone before us and learned these lessons through hard experience.

They don’t need to be of the nobility.

Actually, I’m talking of the Bible with Jonathan and David; Blessed John Newman and Ambrose St. John; the Saints Gregory and Basil; Aelred of Rievaulx with his book De spirituali amicitiâ (“Spiritual Friendship”); etc.

Yes, it would be good for them to be surrounded with friends though in practice people often wind up with a handful of very dear friends and being friendly with acquaintances with whom them have vary degrees of closeness.

If they really wanted to be progressive, they would push for Elsa to have a boyfriend with down syndrome. Gays are represented all over TV and movies; How often do you see a down syndrome romance play out?
