I am not surprised. How sadFrom an unlikely angle? This is a Liberal perspective which you might find suprising!

Yes, and an adoption agency could perhaps consider orthodox Catholicism an environment which fosters immorality. Doesn’t quite work out, does it?Why can’t an agency choose not to let a child be raised in what the agency considers as a immoral environment. The problem is in the liberal view morality is subjective. Drugs also could be a subjective moral.
Society understands, after decades of unbiased research, that the best environment for children is with a mother and father who are in a stable marriage. Children rasied in traditional homes do significantly better in school, have less of a chance of running afoul of the law, and are generally able to avoid a poverty stricken adulthood. An Orthodox Catholic family would have a better than average chance at providing these opportunities for an adopted child.Yes, and an adoption agency could perhaps consider orthodox Catholicism an environment which fosters immorality. I am not sure what you mean by “Doesn’t quite work out, does it?” If you mean the agency could consider orthodox Catholicism as immoral, Morality is not subjective. Okay, what if an agency feels the Catholic faith is immoral. Let them define what is moral. The agency should have to justify their rational. I don’t think they could, but they would have the right to justify it. In any case an agency should have the right to look out for what it feels is in the best interest of the child.Yes, and an adoption agency could perhaps consider orthodox Catholicism an environment which fosters immorality. No it doesnt but then we have freedom of religion in this country. OTH no constitutional rights accrue from anal sex.Yes, and an adoption agency could perhaps consider orthodox Catholicism an environment which fosters immorality. Doesn’t quite work out, does it?
Perfect example of the coarsening of society as a result of the so called homosexual rights movement. Mirdath is eqauating Religion with a group of people who only distinguishing characterisitc is the manner in which they engage in sex. Of course once we start defining people by their sexual behavior the decline of our culture is inevitable.I am not sure what you mean by “Doesn’t quite work out, does it?” If you mean the agency could consider orthodox Catholicism as immoral, Morality is not subjective. I have never seen such research, and not for lack of looking.Society understands, after decades of unbiased research, that the best environment for children is with a mother and father who are in a stable marriage. The problem is, as you said, with viewpoints. Some people view morality as subjective – and they won’t be convinced otherwise. If they’re in charge of a certain decision, they can wreck it for others just as well as moral absolutists can for those they disapprove of.I am not sure what you mean by “Doesn’t quite work out, does it?” If you mean the agency could consider orthodox Catholicism as immoral, Morality is not subjective. I’m not endorsing it, merely pointing out the glaring flaw in Oblaidon’s reasoning. There is no assurance that just because an agency has authority to do as they see fit, they will agree with you.Perfect example of the coarsening of society as a result of the so called homosexual rights movement. There is no flaw. You are operating under the assumption that consitutional rights accrue from anal sex. The idea that if an agency denies puting people in homes where their caregivers engage in homosexual behavior they can also deny Catholic Households is nonsense. As I said it is an indication of how far we must drag society down to accomodate the homosexual rights agenda.I

Had Oblaidon mentioned constitutional rights in that post, the issue wouldn’t have come up. There was no mention of rights – merely ‘why can’t they just bar people they don’t like?’There is no flaw. But they can, and always have been able to , ban adoptions for people living an immoral and destructive lifestyle.Had Oblaidon mentioned constitutional rights in that post, the issue wouldn’t have come up. There was no mention of rights – merely ‘why can’t they just bar people they don’t like?’
Well sometimes you have go beyond a google search.I have never seen such research, and not for lack of looking.
You are a Catholic, right? You should already know the answers to your questions. Can someone help me with a question please?
If gay couples are precluded from adopting by Catholic agencies because gay sex is not open to the possibility of life, why are couples that use birth control, or have oral sex, not barred from adopting?
Also, if love flows from God to man then back to God, how do we consider the genuine love that exists between some gay couples? Is it not of God?
