I don’t think this is the way we should approach the “marriage equality” issue. I oppose it, but not on the basis that it supports Communism. The problem with using that as an argument is that it makes us sound a bit like lunatics (although there are some on the Left that are very fond of calling anyone who opposes their agenda “lunatics” regardless of what they actually think). In spite of my agreement with the general opinion of the commentators on that website, when I look at the comments section, the conservatives really end up looking the worse.

Yeah, and there was a time there where segregation laws and anti-miscegenation laws were supported in the name of “anti-communism” as well. Not that I have any sympathy for communism, but still…

I did not intend the link to be an “approach.” It was intended as information, with a plausible argument.

If something is plausible, does it really matter what it sounds like, or looks like?

And there was a time when we were warned about who might be behind the “gay marriage” movement.

I’m not 100% certain of who is behind the “gay marriage” movement but I do not automatically dismiss a plausible argument.

I dont understand the use of " " around the word gay.

Do you believe that there is no such thing as people who are attracted to their same gender?

I dismiss it as a fool hearty argument based on history. Any supporter of gay marriage or even a fence sitter is going to have a hay day pointing out the lunacy of such claims, hence giving support to this plainly disordered issue.

I can hear people laughing, asking what’s next, a bloated senator calling hearings to investigate college roommates for being gay pawns for the communists,😃

The term, “gay” was originally coined by the movement as “good as you,” thus it is correct to mention it in quotation marks.

Further, I and others reject that there is such a thing as a person who is born to be married to another of the same gender; that is not to say people do not have harmful and troublesome attractions, but Christians in general should remain firm in the fact that there is no such thing as “gay marriage.” It does not exist.

I think that the objection is to substituting “gay” for “homosexual”. There are those of us who still remember when the word was still useful in writing light rhyming verse.

Laugh all you want. I view it as reliable intel regarding a credible threat from a formidable enemy of the traditional family.

Reliable intel? From WND? Really? There’s a reason it’s referred to as “Wing Nut Daily.”

I apologize for the snark, but intelligent readers are well aware of the inaccuracies and untruths that WND promulgates.

By who? Progressives who cannot refute the substance? 😃

And does that ad hominem characterization stop your investigation and make you agree?

The way it works is that a forum (such as WND) is merely the vehicle for a writer’s commentary. I think the writer in this case is on to something.

Are intelligent readers grateful to have you as their spokesman?

I don’t think the far left are the marxists any more. As nearly as I can tell, the far left are anarchists. The far right are survivalists. IOW, once you get to the far ends of the political spectrum on either end, there isn’t anything left that could realistically support civilization. All civil moorings–just gone.😦

I don’t know if you can even talk about the far left aiming at “destroying” the traditional family. Many don’t have an experience of it. They seem to think it is all pretend, a fake. To say they’re trying to destroy it…it is like they don’t believe there is an “it” to destroy. That has to be understood.

Thanks, but I think I will base my understanding on the evidence, which indicates that attacks on the traditional family typically come from the far left.

That’s exactly what they are; read up on Cultural Marxism to understand how things like gay rights, multiculturalism, atheism/secularism, feminism, and mass immigration are framed by the left as facets of a single crusade to debase Western civilization. Gay marriage, in particular, is intended to undermine the traditional family unit, and so erase the fundamental institution of our society. The far-left is still very much Marxist, but these days they draw their Marxist thought from “oppression” ideology, which dictates that the only way to eliminate things like “racism”, “homophobia”, and “patriarchy”, is to radically transform society. It is perhaps the single biggest threat Christian civilization has ever faced.
