Any other Episopalians out there?
I left Babylon far behind, and crossed the Tiber. 😦

Some sickening quotes:

“We have allowed the Bible to be taken hostage, and it is being wielded by folks who would use it to hit us over the head. We have to take back those Scriptures,” he said. "You know, those stories are our stories. I tell this to lesbian folk all the time: The story of freedom in Exodus is our story. … That’s my story, and they can’t have it.
“This current administration notwithstanding, the world is not black and white,” Bishop Robinson said. "We need to teach people about nuance, about holding things in tension, that this can be true and that can be true, and somewhere between is the right answer. It’s a very adult way of living, you know.
“What an unimaginative God it would be if God only put one meaning in any verse of Scripture,” he said.

Bishop Robinson encouraged Planned Parenthood leaders to fight their opposition.
“I know, in the end, that I’m going to heaven, and so are you,” he said. “You and I can do this work no matter how hard it gets, because we know we’re going home.”

What the heck is going on here?

Wow! Real “doublethink”! George Orwell must be spinning!

I thought this quote that I found from Orwell about his objections to nuance and subtlety were fascinating given Robinson’s embrace of “nuance”:

*The parallels to today’s situation should be obvious. I greatly value nuance and subtlety – for example, it is necessary in order to understand any system that involves feedback, such as economics, where secondary effects quickly become dominant. However, nuance and subtlety are often used for another purpose entirely – to lie. -George Orwell (*Italics added for emphasis.) **

I am so full of hope with Benedict XVI at the helm. This perversion of truth won’t be infiltrating our Church.

Has this “bishop” ever, in his life, read the bible!?

I’m confused. Is it our story or is it “my story and they can’t have it”?

I found that analogy particularly sickening. So Robinson equates a homosexual breaking ‘out’ with Moses leading his people out of slavery? HUH? How utterly tasteless to infer that normal heterosexual relationships (such as Robinson’s marriage) with slavery. It would I suppose play well with the PP group.

That’s exactly what he is saying! Bingo!

Hey! Benedict XVI, open the doors! I think we’re gonna have some people who are tired of being Anglicans a’comin’ our way.

Could be… I was fine for a while about the whole “gay bishop” thing, but this Planned Parenthood “relationship” has put me over the edge. I am sickened by it…I don’t have a Priest right now to even talk to…ours has left…

Don’t think for a second it hasn’t crossed my mind to flee! Just convincing my husband may be the hard part…and oh my, my parents would absolutely give me “heck”…they already do because I am Episcopalian and they say…“Isn’t that Catholic or as close to Catholic that you can get”…I say, “Sure is!”

.

I probably need to run to the nearest Catholic church and say…Here I am, what do I do now?
Well what in the heck are ya waiting for?! COME HOME! 😛

*He says " The reason I love the Episcopal church is that it actually trusts us to be adults"…*He’s talking about the women who make a decision to have abortions…doesn’t he know that Banned Parenthood offer abortions to minors withput parental consent?
I must say in response to him, one reason I love to be Catholic is that the Church actually trusts/challenges people to live a life subbordinate to morals based on Christ’s teaching.
I think it can actually be a lot harder than choosing for yourself, but essentially, it is much more liberating.

“We need to teach people about nuance, about holding things in tension, that this can be true and that can be true, and somewhere between is the right answer…” Quote from Robinson

From this quote, it sounds as if the agenda is to eliminate critical thinking, or maybe he never had any. True is true, The right answer is NOT “somewhene between” two truths.
This is Newspeak in “nuance.” If you parse that sentence, it makes no logical sense. Neither does anything else he says, yet I can see people in his audience nodding sagely to these profound utterances.
A Planned Parenthod prayer breakfast could be no other way than this. None of it makes any sense whatsoever!
The devil’s favorite color is gray.

If you are not considereing joining the Catholic Church maybe you ought to see if there is one of the The Anglican Mission in the Americas Churches in your area. theamia.org/

But you are welcome to check out RCIA anytime…

It shows how all the things that Pope Paul VI predicted in Humanae Vitae has come to pass, and is even recognized by the scientific community.

IMHO, it is sadly ironic that Episcopalians, the first denomination to approve artificial birth control, is now being torn apart by sexual issues.

Yes, because homosexuals havent been persecuted and hunted down like animals throughout history at all… Oh right, they HAVE!

…it does seem rather weird that a priest would back this though

…and thery have done a little persecution of their own… of others and of their own:cool:
“This is one for your personal library. No doubt you will, at some time, be confronted with the myth of the persecution of homosexuals by the Nazis. Be ready with the facts
.” Paul De Parrie, Life Advocate

Many times the animals were themselves, oh, homosexual…
