I would hope convicted criminals and terrorists would get the worst treatment by society.

I believe the perceived bad treatment of homosexuals is based on a couple of isolated cases that got extrapolated into a whole universe.
Saying that homosexuals don’t get bad treatment, it’s just a couple of cases that get all the attention in the same thread that you say you would deny them an apartment for being gay doesn’t make a lot of sense.

Well, deny them for being a gay couple wanting to live together in my housing, yes. Denying a single man wanting an apartment (who might happen to be gay, but it doesn’t come up), would not happen with me. I have nothing against the person himself.

If I do a background check and someone and find out he has a criminal history, I’m going to be very hesitant to rent to him. Many reformed criminals have issues being accepted into a neighborhood when they get out.

I didn’t mean by society, I meant by individuals because of their religious beliefs.

In exactly which post in this thread did I say I’d deny them an apartment for being gay?

Why on earth would the landlord be asking about one’s sexual orentation? It would be discrimination to not rent to the couple and thus illegal.
This is a great post. And why wold anyone ask or offer information about one’s sexual orientation?

Just the other day, a casual acquaintace, was telling me about a friend of theirs and injects in the conversation, this person’s sexual orientation that they are gay. I was really annoyed because when I talk about my “straight” friends and I’m talking about them to someone who doesn’t even know them, I would never even think of adding, “oh and by the way, this person is straight”. So why would I mention that their “gay”?

I think its an attempt to make their actions seem normal when their not. I don’t really care what people are doing in the privacy of their homes so DON’T TELL ME ABOUT THIER SEXUAL ORIENTATION!

Does anyone know how to post a ‘POLL’ ? Can someone just type the instructions because I want to take a poll on this topic. Thank you.

When two men come in looking for a one bedroom, you get the point. Just like the nature of my relationship is clear when I look for a one bedroom with my fiance.

The OP is asking a moral question, not just a legal one.
