I’m afraid you’ve come to the wrong shop. I said nothing about the OP or any other poster being judgmental. I simply replied to one poster who was concerned about appearing judgmental:

forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?p=6774337#post6774337

That not being judgmental was the only way I knew to avoid appearing judgmental.

So no hypocrisy here.

As far as “judging the posters heart and intentions” if someone deliberately uses inflammatory language (“sticking their facial parts down each other’s throats”) when referring to one group, but not to the exact same actions performed by another group, then no “judgement” is required to divine the “heart and intentions”. Its is patently an attempt to inflame the readers and stir up hatred toward those individuals.

Seriously, do you not get that?
And by the way, I’ve let you slide in omitting my whole comment/question, but for those who don’t remember, this was the total statement *note it was about every situation of extreme pda:
So you think it’s okay to let your children be exposed to two women sticking facial parts down each others throats infront of children (or two men, or a man and a woman)?
Please, quote me correctly next time.

Of course it would. I would call that normal. 🙂
I would call it normal too. And as I said upstream, I find same sex PDA more distasteful and uncomfortable than “straight” PDA but I consider that MY problem.

I would also recognize that in some cases “normal” is one of the Human frailties we’re trying to overcome to move closer to God.

What wasn’t the question. The question was, If you see a group of people who are manifestly “sinning” in a public place, what do you do/how do you feel about it?

Examples given included
  • a Protestent Church Group (you can tell cause they’re all wearing “Bugtussle Baptist Church” Tee-shirts
  • Seeing someone in the checkout line with a package of condoms in their grocery cart
  • An affintity group of IVF families at your local amusement park (again you can tell by their tee-shirts).
My point is that if you don’t feel the same way about each of these situations as you did about the Gay Day participants, then it ain’t “generic sinfullness” that’s bothering you, but this particular sin.

To my mind that’s what’s “wrong” in this situation. If you get bent out shape about Gays, but not about Protestants, Contraceptors or IVFrs then you can hardly claim that its “sin” that bothers you.
Can you please explain how a Baptist group falls into “mortal sinners”.

Anyway, you are missing the point. This isn’t just about being around other sinners (yes, I am a sinner too), this is about a movement in our culture that is aggressively out to push their disordered lifestyle on ALL of us, whether we like it or not. And they are deliberately targeting our CHILDREN. Why are they targeting our children? Because they are seeking to pull an entire generation away from God by accepting homosexual acts as normal and acceptable… and they will be successful if GOD doesn’t intervene soon.
Their agenda is despicable and insidious. It’s time for ALL Christians to wake up and recognize what their REAL agenda is.

And by the way, I’ve let you slide in omitting my whole comment/question, but for those who don’t remember, this was the total statement *note it was about every situation of extreme pda: Please, quote me correctly next time.
I omitted the “in front of children” as it wasn’t relevant to the discussion. I take issue with your characterization, not the fact that you are uncomfortable with PDA in front of children.

Here is a question for you seriously.

Why did you say “sticking facial parts down each others throats” and not “French Kissing” or “Passionate Kissing”?

Well, I have never seen a non-Catholic Christian group with t-shirts on saying who they are in public. The only religious t-shirts I see in public are of Jesus on the cross with the words “No Pain, No Gain” on them, or similar shirts (which I happen to own a few myself).

As for what’s in other’s grocery carts, I’ve never seen contraceptives in their carts, but then again, I shop at places that have enough aisles open for checkout that the longest wait I’ve had was about 1 minute. But being a mom who falls asleep by 9, I would assume that most contraceptive buying is later in the night.

And IVF, I have never seen a group gathering about that, but ask anyone who knows me what I think and say about the topic (even people who don’t know me well) and they’ll tell you EXACTLY what I have said in regards to the topic.

By the way, I have discussions about same-sex relationships with my relatives who are “married” to their same-sex “partners”. By the way, when I see these relatives I also discuss other issues with them. I actually enjoy talking to them and having good debates with them. They are always friendly and I have never stopped loving them, nor have I loved them less. In fact, God has given them great gifts that I admire and respect. But then again, they are also respectful to not shove their sin into the face of babes. I wish more were the same in that manner, but that is not the case. Then again, I live by a college campus and we all know that some youth enjoy “shocking” others and not really caring about the audience, no matter what orientation.

By the way, when “rainbow pride” activists disrupt mass and make a scene, I’m sure you tell your fellow parishioners and Catholics that they should just let them express themselves and to not try to stop them.

Thanks for pointing that out.

It’s interesting that Bill’s whole comment was:

…and then he omitted the part of the quote where you applied the same comment to all possible groups. Kind of negates the whole point he was trying to make. My judgement is that that’s pretty openly dishonest. 😛

and you omitted that it was about women with women, men with men and women with men.

As for why I referred to it the way I did, I explained that already.

If you don’t care, then why do you care that there might be a gay in a film? If you accept that gays do exist, and you accept gay friends, gay co workers, gay relatives, gay children (etc), then why would you insist that their affection be hidden?
Well to answer your question. I’m not gay I like guys but I don’t go around hanging on guys in public and telling everyone who will listen how much I like guys and neither do I push an ajenda out there all the time. 👍

Can you please explain how a Baptist group falls into “mortal sinners”.
By definition they are (and deliberately remain) outside of the Church. By definition they hold (and attempt to induce in others through evangilization!) heretical doctrines. They NEVER meet their Sunday obligation and they have never been to confession so ANY mortal sins they have committed since Baptism are unforgiven. how can they NOT be mortal sinners?

And what about the meat eaters? the Copntraceptors? and the IVFers?
This isn’t just about being around other sinners (yes, I am a sinner too), this is about a movement in our culture that is aggressively out to push their disordered lifestyle on ALL of us, whether we like it or not. And they are deliberately targeting our CHILDREN.
Now we get to the heart of then matter!

In what way are they “pushing” their lifestyle on ALL of us? by simply existing? By demanding that they be allowed to make a living? Seriously, in what way are **you **injured by two men (or two women) shacking up and having sex that you’re not injured by other sins committed by straight people? How did Gays get to be so powerful in your life and so dangerous to your faith?

And what exactly is their danger to children? Are they attempting to “recruit” them? Are they trying to lure them into the “Gay Lifestyle”? Every single Gay person I’ve ever talked to (and living in Atlanta for 24 years I’ve known a large number of them) has known they were Gay well before puberty.

So at long last after ten pages and I don’t know how many posts the truth eventually emerges.

Yep. My mistake. I didn’t see the parenthetical part. I wasn’t intentionally dishonest. Just hasty. I apologize.

But here, seriously is my question. Does gmarie21 refer to ALL french kissing under any circumstance as “sticking facial parts down each other’s throats” or just when its in front of children? If not, why not? Why use inflammatory language in the first place?

No, actually, I’ve heard children ask, “why are they sticking their tongues in each other’s mouths?” You should be grateful that you have not heard this question from the young.

Of course they are trying to “recruit” them. Not recruit them to be gay, but to accept gay activity as normal. If 3-4 year old kids see men holding hands and dressing/acting like woman every time they go out in public, the behavior will be NORMAL to them when they are adults. That is why they are targeting family vacation destinations, parks, schools…I just read in the paper that my local city (Akron) is part of some “family event” to raise money for the GAY OLYMPICS coming to my city in 2013. This IS about recruiting children…recruiting them to accept homosexuality as as normal, acceptable part of society. By the time this generation of kids is grown, they will be completely LOST.

What response would you advocate to seeing Same Sex Couple in public?
  • Just frown at them and make faces?
  • Lock them up in prison until they promise to stop?
  • Deny them employment or a place to live until they promise to stop?
  • Should we verbally abuse them?
  • “Lightly” physically abuse them by throwing trash or non-injurious projectiles at them?
  • “Heavily” physically abuse them by throwing rocks or injurious materials at them? (This one may have some resonance with Old Testament fans!)
  • Kill them? (Mathew Shepard certainly isn’t flaunting his homosexual lifestyle in anyone’s face these days!)
Seriously. What, in your view, should society do about these people so that we won’t be “completely lost”?

I have to admit that I have never seen gays sticking their tongues down eachother’s throats even when I lived in the gay section of my city while in university.

What I did see, was men wearing heals and dresses…men prostitutes and lots of leather. I only ever saw them holding hands.

What bothers me is the sleazy leather outfits and the jokes like, “Nice ### Peter!” Some of them do act inappropriately like this. It’s almost like this small percentage of these men purposely have to make a point of saying, “We’re here and we’re queer!!!”

That’s what I wouldn’t want my DD to see. The small percentage that make the rest look bad.

It’s just a lot for a child to process.

I also wouldn’t take my child to a nightclub where they would see lots of sleazy dressed people dancing provocatively. To me, it’s the same type of thing and our society for some reason, has made it ok when gays do it.
This is the same reason that the only pro-life people that make it onto the news are the nutjobs who want to bomb abortion clinics. It’s ALWAYS the loud/freaky people that make it into the public view. Where I grew up, there was a lesbian couple down the street, I saw them out and about places but NEVER saw them do anything inappropriate with one another. In fact, I don’t think I knew they were a lesbian couple until I was 14 or 15, and they lived down the street from us the entire time we lived there, and I was 8 when we moved in.

Apparently you only want to address the comments that you think AREN’T addressing your questions. As I responded to every. single. part. of your post.

Your responses are getting to the point of ridiculous. Honestly. Do you REALLY think anyone here is advocating ANY kind of violence. And if you do, can you please point to a post that you think insinuates it?

The FIRST thing we need to do is STOP accepting it as normal. As in, no, we do not need allow gay couples equal rights in regards to marriage. We do not need corporations requiring their employees to pay in their money to health insurance companies that treat gay couples as married. (if I can’t get health insurance on my sister, why should they be able to on someone they are NOT married to) But I think the whole point of this thread is that, these kinds of things should not be taking place at family theme parks. JUST LIKE there shouldn’t be an S&M pride day at a family theme park where heterosexual couples come in wearing leather and spikes and carrying whips. Not appropriate for families. If you are fine with a simple explanation to your kids about how this “isn’t what is best” or however you worded it before, fine. But, just because the rest of us here don’t want our children to see it, that doesn’t make us hateful, evil, people who want to beat gays. 🤷

Apparently you only want to address the comments that you think AREN’T addressing your questions. As I responded to every. single. part. of your post.
Ah, well I can only plead that I was otherwise occupied. Let’s see:
I’ve personally never seen a Protestant wearing a t-shirt that says that they are a Baptist or whatever (of course I’m not in the bible belt as you are), but I HAVE corrected Protestants and non-Christians about their heresy. Yes. I have told them that Christ set up His Church with Peter as the head and that throughout the past 2,000 years only the Catholic Church has maintained this authority.
I assure that in my part of the country you can swing a dead cat in the summer without running into a gaggle of tee-shirted youths, from (generally Protestant) church groups at virtually any recreational facility or venue. From CNN center, to Stone Mountain to the Braves games. Simply by being Protestant these folks are objectively in mortal sin (their individual culpability is of course far beyond our ken and based on their own level of knowledge etc). If you’re not just as upset by Bugtussle Baptist Church Youth Day at Stone Mountain, as you are at Gay Day at Stone Mountain. Then I would ask why?
I have corrected Catholics who don’t think this applies to them and explained to non-Catholic Christians as well as my own father who is not Christian, WHY we give up meat on Fridays.

I’ve never WATCHED someone purchasing contraceptives in the grocery store, but I have corrected (or attempted to) my niece and others who were not aware that these things were objectively sinful.
Both of these behaviors are objectively sinful. But I’ve never seen anyone post on this board that their vacation was ruined because “such and such place” served say cheeseburgers, or that they saw people eating steaks on a Lenten Friday.

Or that they where upset because the woman in front of them at Publix was buying condoms in front of their child. Why not? if they are so upset at witnessing sin, why haven’t we seen these types of posts?
I guess I don’t get your point. Can you explain why you think it’s wrong to be upset when forced to witness sin?
I never said anyone was wrong to be upset when forced to witness sin. My question is an effort to determine whether individuals who claim to be upset when “forced to witness sin” are upset with ALL sins they witness? or only some?

If its only some sins, why those sins?

Also, in what way are people being “forced” to witness sin? Even the OP says they left the park when they saw what they saw. So how were they “forced”?

Your responses are getting to the point of ridiculous. Honestly. Do you REALLY think anyone here is advocating ANY kind of violence. And if you do, can you please point to a post that you think insinuates it?
You understand that I’m asking about violence because society has used violence in the past to attempt to stop homosexual behavior. In fact, several countries still inflict the death penalty for homosexual behavior.

And last month a same sex couple was sentenced to 14 years in prison for being a same sex couple. The Prime Minister of the country (Indonesia??) agreed to commute the sentence on condition that the two men not see each other.couple. So I don’t think I’m being alarmist or hysterical when I ask about violence.
The FIRST thing we need to do is STOP accepting it as normal.
This is my question. EXACTLY HOW do we stop accepting it as “normal”

You give two examples. NO Marriage and NO health insurance!. Got it. Somehow I don’t think that’s going to make Gay people go away, or slink back into the closet.

What else are you willing to do to protect your children from seeing same sex couples?

One Catholic school expelled the children of a lesbian couple? Does that work for you? (The Diocese overruled the school).
But, just because the rest of us here don’t want our children to see it, that doesn’t make us hateful, evil, people who want to beat gays. 🤷
I didn’t say ANYONE wanted to beat Gays. I asked how far you’re willing to go?

The question still stands.

What else are you willing to do to protect your children from seeing same sex couples?

I thought I’d add my “thoughts” to this site because I’m a native San Franciscan and the “gays” have literally taken over the city. The part of the city that they live in had to close theCatholic grammar school because there just weren’t enough children in the area. Several of my long-time friends grew up in that area, and it was considered to be a family-oriented part of the city. Some time back I went downtown on a Sunday and I must have missed something in the newspaper a/c the street car was filled with gays – and they were all over one another – kissing, hugging, etc. And to be truthful I don’t like to see anyone act like that in public. I think it is definitely personal!!!
The city is still a beautiful city, but if you come here you will definitely see many, many gays!!
