But as I said before. If there IS a genetic component, so what?

Well for one thing it means any argument about homosexuality being different from sex or race are bogus.

Tlaloc fails to distinguish between homosexual orientation and homosexual behavior. Gender and race are not behaviors, and neither is the tendancy to be sexually attracted to certain people. However, acting on that attraction is a behavior and a choice.

Being attracted to someone does not force someone to have sex with them.
Besides, two people having a monogamous relationship does not obligate society to reward them.

Tlaloc:
For exactly the same reason heteros do. Because they want to enter into a long term relationship with a partner and we have no good reason to prevent that.
We aren’t preventing it. I don’t see cops arresting gays who live together.

This is why…should I find myself still living on the west coast when my kids reach high school age…my kids will be attending Catholic high school.
Please check other threads regarding catholic schools on the west coast. Let’s just say “gay days” are in the making there too.

But at least in Catholic school, you don’t have to let your kids attend such garbage. Given the scenario Gloria explained, this is a week long event at the school. At least in Texas, you can’t just take your kids out of school for a week. In the district where my neices attend, any absence of 3 or more days without medical documentation means you don’t get promoted to the next grade. In Catholic school, I can take my kids out whenever I need to. They have to make up the work, of course. 🙂
My friend please be careful not all schools with Catholic in their name are. There is a famous school in south bend that claims Catholic but is it.

That is the funniest sentence I’ve read here. I can’t even…wow…

Yeah cause it’s not about equality or anything, no it’s about bankrupting the church. Yeah that’s the ticket!

Bill, can I call you Bill? Bill, maybe just maybe, and I want you just roll this one around in the old noggin for a bit, maybe there wouldn’t be any animosity between the Church and the homosexual community if the Church wasn’t trying to *oppress *them.

In other words, maybe, just maybe, you’re complaining when the 90 pound kid starts kicking the sand back at the 300 lb gorilla.
Tlaloc my friend our church, the true Christian church founded by Jesus is founded on one thing “truth.” That “truth” has a name and that name is Jesus. Jesus clearly taught that a man who lies down with another man is an abomination. Homosexuality when acted out is an abomination.
Code:
There are many reasons why the sin of homosexuality is not a personal matter.
  • Any time we sin because we are all part of the one body of the church, little ‘c’, we are not just our self but the whole church. Just like if we were to cut off one of our fingers the loss if that finger would be felt by the entire body.
  • My experience and observation is homosexuality is a vortex into greater sin. It seems to always lead into promiscuity. It also seems to lead in to experimentation with other things that diminish society and the individual.
  • Then there are the financial costs of homosexuality. Active homosexuals are promiscuous, (I will not back down from that statement it can be shown empirically.) This promiscuity and the unordered and unnatural acts which are the homosexual acts promote disease. As a person who pays insurance premiums, doctor bills and taxes those diseases are paid for by my dollars.
  • Etc . . .

No one has a right to live in any way they choose. No one has the right to kill a innocent child, even if that is their choice in the way they want to live. No one has the right to rape a virgin even if that is the way they have chosen to live. No one has the right to destroy someone else’s property to which they have no legal and moral claim. We can not just live how ever we want we have to conform to the norms of society. We are obligated to live in the truth.

:hmmm: Which school is that?

Tlaloc:
Well we agree on that much then.

Do you think it’s fair to equate someone’s personal religions beliefs with a crime? Do you think it’d be appropriate to outlaw or discriminate against Catholicism?

A murderer harms another. Thats a pretty fundamental difference between the psychopath and the wiccan or the gay man. Don’t you think?
They don’t have a civil right to encourage an unhealthy lifestyle. I’m from Massachusetts. They’ve been proselytizing in our schools for quite awhile. I do not feel that they should be saying to children “As with vegetables, how do you know you don’t like homosexuality unless you try it”…that statement is on tape…

Filth. If I had children in school now-a-days, I would yank them out so fast their little heads would spin.
As it is, I do have grandchildren in school and, unfortunately, the parents don’t feel their psyches are being harmed. The effects of Satan and his secular agenda has quietly and subversively penetrated the brains of those who are not protecting their minds and hearts with the armor of God’s Word.

Very well said - thank you.

It is increasingly apparent that Nazi Papa Ratz intends to roll the Church back to the ‘Tradition’ of unreported and unsuspected clergy sex abuse of the traditional past.

Y.T.

The Vatican has sought the intervention of the U.S. State Department to declare Pope Benedict XVI immune from a sexual abuse lawsuit filed [in Houstan, TX], according to court documents.

A church official contacted the State Department May 20, asking it to notify a Houston federal court of the pope’s immunity as the head of a foreign state, according to the defense motion. Vatican attorneys requested a delay on the matter Thursday.

I don’t even know where to begin in responding. I think it is outrageous to use the word “Nazi” with respect to ANYONE who wasn’t actually a member of the Third Reich, much less refer to our beloved Holy Father with that horrible title. As to the insinuation that because the Pope wants to be removed from a lawsuit he must want to hide sexual abuse, it’s beyond comprehension. Could you please get in touch with reality? If you have ever been involved in a lawsuit, the plaintiffs will name EVERYONE who may have even the slightest involvement with a case while the defense will move to take the irrelevant parties off the complaint. This is standard legal procedure and nothing that should set off an alarm bell.

You might want to go to Water Cooler and read the thread on etiquette before posting again.

Lisa N:
Homosexuals have been trying to latch on to other well established civil rights groups hoping that they can equate their behavior with skin color or nationality.

But as you said, there is a real distinction between intrinsic qualities and learned behaviors or actions. I was born female and can’t change it. I didn’t learn to be a female although I certainly learned certain female behaviors. Discrimination against me strictly as a female is wrong but if my female behavior is inappropriate then discrimination is in order.

There is no similarity between the Civil Rights Movement and the push for acceptance of homosexuality. The Civil Rights Movement was the push for full recognition of natural law to be recognized by the United States government in its legal treatment of its black citizens. The rights that blacks sought were inalienable rights endowed by their Creator. The Creator did not on the other hand endow a person with the “right” to commit sodomy upon another’s person. Such a right does not exist in natural law. So to compare the two is disingenuous because there is no basis for comparison. The “right” that is insisted upon is the right to legalize an immoral act, but in doing so, the State will be complicit in perverting natural law. This was not the case with the Civil Rights Movement. The State was reaffirming natural law. But what we have here at that high school is the bullying through political correctness to accept, promote, celebrate even, a lifestyle that is immoral, which people know is instinctly immoral, but one which has been foisted upon the public as a right.
