i talk to people in a manner that they will be receptive

i have friends who are unmarried and cohabiting. knowing that they’re not religious, coming after them quoting the Bible left and right would only further turn them away from God. but talking about the merits of marriage and why they should do it is a better approach

Well I’m by no means a fan of anything pagan and do not support this type of belief in any way, shape or form, but I have indeed heard of it. What drew you to this type of religion?

Yeah, hang around enough sci fi conventions and you hear of every religion from L. Ron Hubbard’s cult to Klingon Kahless worship to Muad’dib’s Jihadist followers on Arrakis! 😃

One thing that I come away with from almost all cons I’ve attended is how thoroughly, cosmically, mundane I am.

Join the club! And Anglicanism is definitely not a solution for the mundane! lol…but running into some Romulans, Agent Mulder, and Buck Rogers is a great way to unwind lol

LOL Yes and no. I like the idea that the religion in and of itself is extremely personalized. It’s the only religion that kind of “fits” my world view of things. I stumbled onto a Discordian website, and I read up on it, and was amazed by how much my own thinking and beliefs were similar to Discordianism, and I had never heard of it until i had found the site. And since it completely encourages schisms and such, it was perfect. Being the kind of artistic type, I was never really good with order, so being a follower of the Goddess of Chaos seemed a pretty easy conversion.

Anyway, enough thread-jacking. Would you guy mind if I start a Discordian thread and we can talk about it there?

Come what may 😃 Plus a lot of people have asked me about it, and I want to have a place where people can ask and not be thread-jacking. It tends to happen a lot.
