Gay High school being proposed in Chicago

I thought we already had anti discrimation clauses for schools…and anti segregration clauses as well. How is this going to help? To me if the problem is bullying this group of people, then deal with the bullying, don’t compound the problem by isolating people in a world that they have to learn to live in??? I don’t understand the rationale on this in any way. Nor how are we going to select teachers for this school?:eek:

Let’s isolate them and really brand them as different by setting them up in their own environment. :rolleyes:

How anyone can think that, for example, a kid who goes to such a school and shows up somewhere…anywhere in public with their varsity jacket or school tee-shirt or whatever won’t take exponentially more abuse than if they were identified on first sight as going to a “normal” school is well beyond far-fetched.

That’s not to say such abuse is right or just, but anyone who thinks that painting a target on these kids is a good idea should walk into a biker bar with a rainbow flag and test their hypothesis first.

I guess the leader of the far left has coined a new catch phrase "…a judgment well above their pay grade". As Charile Brown used to say, “Good Grief”. :rolleyes:
 
New York City tried this a few years ago. I don’t remember anything after the initial news stories prior to the opening. It sounds like a really bad idea, especially for that vulnerable age group. :eek:
 
Segregation only makes ostracization easier. Since you could easily figure out by watching who goes to that school.
 
What is the world coming to?

This has got to be one of the craziest ideas I’ve ever heard!

I really worry about the future sometimes. It seems like people are becoming absolutely crazy!
