God does not cast into hell those persons who do not “know” Him through no fault of their own. He does cast those into hell who have every opportunity to “know” Him and choose to not know Him through their own free will choices.I don’t believe God casts people into hell who don’t know Him. Our goal, as Catholics, is to evangelize the whole world.
2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 “when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,”
For AmyBrownEyes:
Some drunks have medical problems which contribute to their behavior and it is good to remember that God knows their hearts and He judges them justly and mercifully.
HIV and STDs are consequences of sinful behavior and innocent people can also contract these diseases through no fault of their own just as pregnancy can be the result of the sins of fornication and adultery, but pregnancy is not the sin and the innocent child conceived is not at fault.
Something to think about: Since Jesus (the Creator of the universe) humbled Himself in order to be born with a human nature in order to die for us so that we could be reconciled to God again after Adam’s sin, do you not think that we should abstain from sinful behavior in return for this great gift bestowed on us so that we can inherit eternal life?
It’s time to take a good look into our own hearts and see if we like who we really are. Do we even have a clue what “love” is?
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 “Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
John 15:13 “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”
Jesus died for us and yet we cannot even refrain from fulfilling sinful desires which actually harm us. How stupid are we? Pretty pathetic!
