Gay Marriage has no place in the Catholic Church

Gay Marriage shouldn’t take place in any catholic Church. Whether if Traditional or New Order. Gay Marriage should not be allowed.

Homosexuality is un-natural and Gay Marriage is un-natural as well.

Marriage in the Catholic Church should be the matrimony between a man and a woman. It should not be for same gender marriages.

I do not see any good reason for gay marriage anyway. and I don’t favor civil unions either.

Two states Massachusetts and California have legalized gay marriage and it should be a sin.

Countries like Canada, the The UK and others have legalized Gay Marriage and yes it should be a sin to legalize Gay Marriage.

I don’t dislike homosexuals but I detest their practice of homosexuality and we should all do so.

Gay Marriage has no place in our society. I hope you agree with me on it.
I agree…I agree, but I don’t want homosexuals persecuted, either. The more we rail against them, the more nervous I become. :knight1:

What about the benefits to the society as a whole?
I think you mis understood me. People who are homosexual want “hetero” benefits that society grants them. e.g. the ones I listed. They feel by being in a “marriage” they will get them and have equal standing. This is using marriage for personal gain/benefit rather than for what God intended. But remember being anti same sex marriage/anti homosexual clergy is different than caring about and ministering to people who are gay.

well, that was my point. How does having homosexual marriages benefit society? They don’t. If anything they hurt society. I posted a link on this thread earlier explaining that.

There are no new “discrimination laws.” The Unruh Civil Rights Act has been around in Califonria for years. For those who don’t know the Unruh Civil Rights act prohibits discrminination in public accommodations and services.

CHURCHES ARE, ALWAYS HAVE BEEN AND ALWAYS WILL BE EXEMPT!

Stop with this non sequitir that because someone got sued because they didn’t want to photograph a gay “wedding” that churches are next. Churches aren’t obligated to do anything under the law, except not commit crimes.
yeah…for now. All it takes is a liberal politician to decide to revoke a churches tax exemption on grounds of discrimination.

What about one man and more than one woman, is this marriage as well?
As Catholics we believe that marriage is between one man and one woman. State laws or practice of others does not change our belief.

A marriage wouldn’t be occuring.

Since it isn’t God presiding, and a marriage is one that can only defined by Him, then the act becomes a cult ritual, and allowing this act to be carried out in a consecrated Temple of the Lord would be blasphemy. Since God would not be presiding, the evil one will. This is one “wedding” he surely would not show up late for, and he gets a bonus by standing in the midst of the Holy Sacrament.

The problem could be addressed immediately by stating the obvious through correction. Bad news for some, but better now than later.

I can respect that, I’m just asking because I want to understand your position completely before I begin a discussion on the matter. So what you’re saying is that a marriage between one man and more than one women is not a marriage at all. Is this correct?

What I am saying is that a person can only be married to one person of the opposite sex at a time. Don’t bring up Old Testament examples, Jesus set that straight with what he said, and we are now in the New Testament.

Well, since you brought up the Old Testament and used the word “examples”, my question is: examples of what, marriage?

My response is simply that we Live in the New Testament.

Fine, supress the facts if you want, but you and I both know that God and his standards also lived in the Old Testament right?

Instead of rambling all over the place, why don’t you simply state your point instead of trying to bait as you go along. What is it?

Look, I have asked you one, and now two questions that you either refuse and/or feel uncomfortable answering. Instead of accusing me of rambling, why not give me the opportunity to make my point by at least providing me a direct response to what I ask. So are you going to answer my questions or not?

So I can get you straight, what specifically are you asking?
  1. ???
  2. ???
