“A lesbian couple in UK are set to open Britain’s first gay-only fertility centre.”
“The couple say that there are not enough resources for same-sex couples because much of the current advice is focused on heterosexual couples.”
“Natalie Drew, 35, and Ashling Phillips, 32, who have two children by a sperm donor, said they decided to set up a centre exclusively for gay people after their own experiences in trying to start a family.”

I wish this couple all the luck in the world with their two children, who seem to be very happy and healthy kids, but its a strange double standard isnt it? If you dont want to be discriminated against then why be a discriminator? There was even another lesbian lady who wrote onto a morning television programme saying more or less what I’ve just said; stating, “why segregate yourself further by discriminating against straight people?”.
The couple have also stated in the article: “Most of the GPs will try to be progressive, but they will refer to the person carrying the child and not the partner, which makes them feel excluded.” - Thats what tends to happen when doctors are taking care of pregnant women regaurdless of their sexuality! The concentration should be her and the unborn child! Who cares if the partner is so immature that they feel excluded? If the partner who is not pregant feels excluded then they should grow up and concentrate on who they see as the mother of their child and forget about their own selfish needs. Thats what expectant fathers are expected to do when their wife is pregnant. They are made to feel excluded and second best by the doctors but they dont care because all they care about is the mother who is carrying the baby and she and the baby must come first always.

but its a strange double standard isnt it?
If the story is correct (a big “if”), I would question the legality of discriminating against non-gay patients. I’m not sure what exceptions exist in British and European law to anti-discrimination provisions, but in the US this would be illegal in those areas that have sexual orientation as a protected class.

On the other hand, if they merely specialize in providing this care from a gay perspective (just as someone might from a Catholic perspective), but also provide care to non-gay patients, I don’t think there’s a legal issue.

Same reason there are Black only Protestant churches.

I’m sure pedophile couples are thrilled over this idea.

Now you’ve said this, Im not sure what the laws in the UK are either. All I know is that Im sick of living in the UK and with all the double standards that come with it, and that this couple’s clinic is absoluetly not providing care to non-gay patients what so ever, its strictly for gays only. Like I said, Im not sure what the law in the UK is as far as this matter is concerned, but thats probably because there is no law against it. In this country its ok to discriminate and do and say what you feel as long as you’re gay. I’ve honestly never been anti-gay. One of my best friends is gay, I took him in when his dad threw him out, he acted as a bride’s maid at my wedding - or bride’s asistant, in his case lol). But Im getting so sick of the militant gays (and I know they dont represent all gay people) in this country who get away with doing and saying what ever they feel like, things that straight people would never get away with, no matter how nasty or hurtful or selfish, or in this case, discriminatory, simply because they are gay.

Why pedophile couples?

One lady we spoke to was having trouble conceiving, but she was told that she wasn’t eligible for treatment because she hadn’t had sex with a man within the last 10 years," the Daily Mail quoted Drew as saying.
As the Mythbusters are wont to say: “Well there’s your problem!”

You couldn’t write this comedy if you tried.

I’m curious about gay marriage and lifestyle. I’ve noticed that gay couples of both sex are playing a traditional role of man and woman in a relationship. For gay men, one acts and looks very feminine and play a role as woman of the house and the other is manly, masculine, and man of the house. For gay women, one plays a traditional role as female and the other looks masculine and plays a role as man of the house and relationship. If gay couples want to act and play like traditional heterosexual couples, why don’t they marry a real man or woman?

Actually that is not true at all. I know many gay people and they do not play man and wife. That’s another reason for them not to “get married”. They are more like friends who have “sex” with each other.

I live in England and it seems these days that it’s ok discriminate against christian. What ever happen to my country.

By law? Or by voluntary association? Big difference. Here there are culturally distinct churches which by their nature attract those of a particular culture which can include race. That is also true of Catholic Churches, by the way. There are ethnically oriented Catholic Masses in my region, which have a lot in common with “Holy Roller” services; they have a heavy black attendance, but additionally many whites attend.

I’ve never personally heard of Protestant churches which specifically exclude whites.

The problem with relying on a news article from India, which is simply paraphrasing an article from the UK’s tabloid The Daily Mail, is that misinformation gets reported as fact.

Here is the article from The Daily Mail.
dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1368707/Gay-family-planning-Lesbian-couple-open-countrys-fertility-clinic-aimed-sex-couples.html

Although the headline and lede makes the clinic sound like a full full fledged fertility clinic, further reading shows that not to be the case. Rather, it is a minor facility to serve a web-based service which has existed for several years.
gayfamilyweb.co.uk/index.php

There is no indication that the services provided by the web program or the minor clinic (both which merely connect gay and lesbian couples to friendly fertility doctors) will exclude heterosexual couples.
