See I’m fairly sure it was the rape that was happening in that city that was the worst thing. Unless you think anal sex is worse than rape?

A moral offense, is by definition, an offense against God. When an act is NOT morally offensive, that then, is not contrary to the Church.
Quite a few breaches of logic and word-slides in your unusual proposition above. Lets deconstruct just one:
The CCC did not use the phrase “moral offense” re divorce.
It said “grave offence” against natural law. So God can be offended in a number of different ways cant He/She? Offending His natural law is not always a “moral offence”, but it is still a “grave offence” regardless.

You do not seem to understand the difference between offences of grave matter and those of culpability for the former.

The Catholic Faith clearly teaches that many things are offensive to our Faith, our Teaching (and God) even if, in rare circumstances, some participants are not fully culpable.

Divorce is certainly one of these offensive things, along with killing, fornication, adultery, taking of another’s goods against their will, contracepting and so on…sure, sometimes participants are not culpable (moral offense) but the disorders above are still offensive to Church Teaching and Faith and Natural Law and hence God.

Original Sin is another example.

Your moral theology framework appears a tad too simplistic I am afraid.
If you cannot accept my observations, let alone the clear words of the CCC (which you distorted above) then there is nothing more that can be gently explained to you.

I don’t know. But there is definitely a demonic spirit behind wasabi peas. I polished off one can, getting to the bottom of the second, and am sure I will cave into the temptation to pop the lid on a third. (And seriously worried that I’ll move on to a fourth). Worse than crack.
Wasabi Daemon cannot shine a lightning bolt to the boss hog Daemon, Carolina Reaper.

Who cares if they have a silly parade ?
That’s what they do - everywhere they go -
Just keep out of the way - don’t interfere - it’s trying -
Unless they’re targeting - or recruiting - others.

What was the CCC speaking of here when it refers to a moral offense?

2383 The separation of spouses while maintaining the marriage bond can be legitimate in certain cases provided for by canon law.

If civil divorce remains the only possible way of ensuring certain legal rights, the care of the children, or the protection of inheritance, it can be tolerated and does not constitute a moral offense.

Is it in regards to civil divorce?

anything we do will be confrontational. Sadly, our priest is leaving about the same time as this event is about to happen.
If you’re going to do anything related to this parade, be sure you have his approval before he leaves.

Having a booth only lends credence to the event. Rather, ignore the pride event. Instead, have a very visible outside event on Church property called “Celebrating Family.” Have a series of presenters speak on sexuality, life, marriage and family. There’s nothing the authorities can do about it.

I don’t think I would encourage a parish to get involved in this event. I don’t see what could be done that wouldn’t cause more harm. The fact is, most of the people involved in “gay pride” events are simply trying to find a way to live their life with a sexual dysfunction that precludes them from having a normal family, creating children of their own, and often alienates them from their family of origin as well as a large portion of society. They are looking for support, family, and purpose. The sad fact is, all the Church has to offer them at the current time is a vague promise that God loves them and has a purpose for them, a devastating list of vocations that are NOT open to them (marriage, parenthood, religious life), and no concrete options of reasonable alternatives or support for seeking and actualizing them. I think we should save the booth for when we have that last part worked out. As a Church, we need to seriously work on our ministry toward those with SSA. If we believe that they are part of the body of Christ, and I think it’s clear that we do, then we should have something to offer that’s better than solitude and exclusion.

Are you suggesting the Holy Church reconsider and change its moral teachings?

As someone who had a best friend who is gay, (we don’t really talk much anymore) I feel I have some idea of the best way to go about this. The best way is to show kindness. You will only make them angrier by putting a banner out with no explanation. You attract them by what the Church can offer rather than what it opposes. Kind of like going on a diet. You don’t want to focus on the sadness you feel not having that brownie. You focus on what you will gain in the long run. Lifestyle changes work by reward. “How will this make me happier? Is it worth it? What will I gain?” etc.

For someone so steeped into secular ideas, they need a full explanation. This is your opportunity to give them that! Show Christian virtue, be patient, willing to listen, willing to discuss, and ready to offer good answers to their questions. A booth would be good. I would not ignore the event because it would only give them further license to “convert” others to their ideas. If there’s no opposition, they will win.

I most certainly am not. I’m suggesting that the Church reconsider its practice and rather than simply exclude gay people from vocations that aren’t appropriate for them, actively seek to discover and develop vocations that are. In other words, put your money where your mouth is. If we teach that God has a purpose for gay people, then it should be apparent in our ministry and church communities.

rather than simply exclude gay people from vocations that aren’t appropriate for them, actively seek to discover and develop vocations that are.
But what vocations will be acceptable for people who experience this attraction who, often times, have a lot of psychological baggage to deal with?

I don’t believe that rubbish. There’s no more a demon behind homosexuality than there’s one behind heterosexuality. We’re all tempted. I don’t believe homosexuals are possessed. Anyone insinuating or spreading that rubbish has zero credibility in my opinion.

Don’t think that for a minute! Anyone preaching that has no knowledge about demonic possession!
