I am so sorry to hear that you are struggling. I will keep you in prayer.

You know this is what happens once we fall into the trap of sin. We know that mortal sin separates up from God. Right now, it seems like your conscience, which is well formed, is hammering on your heart to turn back to God. Do not continue to silence it by persisting with sinful behavior. You know that the deeper into this you get, the harder it will be to climb out and the more difficult it will be to hear God’s voice calling to you.

Pray for God’s help. Gather a team of saints together and pray to them for intercession. St. Michael, St. Martha, St. Joseph all work really well for me. Do not despair as God is waiting for you to return to Him.

I would definitely second blessedtoo’s post above !

Also, here is a quote from a book called “The Spiritual Combat” from a chapter on resisting sensual temptations:
What you should keep in mind at this and all other times is the will of God. He loves you so tenderly that He is delighted with every heroic act of virtue you perform and with the return of your fidelity and courage to His immense love.
Please keep in mind that acting on sexual urges diminishes your power to resist them, and can initiate a cycle of continued, almost addictive, impure actions. This will damage your relationship with God, because He won’t be # 1 anymore.

Is there any faithful, orthodox Catholic in your life you can talk with this about? Is there a Courage group in your area?

Brother, I have two friends who struggle with this too. I’ll remember you in my prayers along with them.

Hold Fast Hope.
