Gay to Straight?

Okay, but it seems like you’ve given up. You looked into counseling and spiritual direction without finding a “source” of the problem, so you’ve decided to accept the “gay” label arguing with people who are successfully celibate or have felt a decrease in their attractions, and have become a “victim” to the status quo. All I’m saying is that it is possible, and I wanted to share that with you. We are not victims.

I’m not denying that it works for you-it seems you are the one assuming that anyone who hasn’t found the exact same solution is somehow not working hard enough, hasn’t read the right Scripture, hasn’t prayed enough or hasn’t listened to God or they’d be “cured”. I’ve said over and over on this thread that I’m happy you’ve found something that works for you-I said it in the message you quoted!

I haven’t “given up”. I’ve stopped trying to live my life according to a construct made by men over 2000 years ago who knew nothing about science, and who had a vested interest in placing a taboo on sexual practices that would in any way limit reproduction. I’m living life the way I was created, nothing more or less.

But really this thread and what we are talking about goes beyond science, except where we talk about heterosexuality propagating the species. It has everything to do with spirituality or God’s way of doing things, and He wants the best for us. If we follow His laws, we have the best. If we don’t, we face the natural consequences of our actions.

When we receive the Holy Spirit, we receive the truth, but for whatever reason, you do not want to see the truth of the matter, so I will not try to explain it anymore to you after this post.

There is a reason “God made them male and female”, to be open to creating life which is why any union that is not “open” to producing life in the natural form, is wrong. Sorry, I didn’t make that law, God did.

Sorry, but I don’t put God in that tiny of a box that He only created people who could make more people. I’m fully aware that the Bible was written in the context of a certain time and place and was subject to the knowledge and cultural situations of that time and place. I don’t interpret literally, and I find people that claim to suspect because it seems that they only claim that for the sections that support their own opinions.

Some people aren’t able to because of physical reasons. I feel like myself I’m getting too old to have kids and wouldn’t want any, but I still have to be open to God’s will, so at this point don’t know how that will work. Don’t have to worry about it right now though.

Luckily, I never wanted them. Like 'em enough when they belong to someone else, but never had any desire to have my own. I always looked at that as a gift from God that went along with the orientation. It’s as if God said: “Ok, well I’ll make this one gay, but I’ll leave out the biological clock”
