I STRONGLY disapprove of homosexuality, but if someone has these feelings, doesn’t that mean that God gave it to them?
Yes, it can be interpreted that way. It is not a defining personal characteristic of you have same-gender preferences. The whole of the person is much more.I STRONGLY disapprove of homosexuality, but if someone has these feelings, doesn’t that mean that God gave it to them?
ABSOLUTELY NOT, God does not had out SODD (Sexual Orientation Disorder Disease). That is like saying He gave someone Schizophrenia. Everyone in this life has Crosses to bear, rich, poor, gay, straight, men, women, etc. Their is no gay gene, their’s no way to transport a gay gene from one generation to the next, even if their could have been such a molecular/DNA structure someone would have found it by now. They have isolated, however a few proteins that are statistically higher amounts in those with SODD.I STRONGLY disapprove of homosexuality, but if someone has these feelings, doesn’t that mean that God gave it to them?

You’re right that they haven’t conclusively found any “gay gene.” Scientists typically dissent over this point, but as of now there is simply insufficient evidence for it…Some folks have become straight after trying, others have not. But we are all called to live a chase life outside of marriage
No.I STRONGLY disapprove of homosexuality, but if someone has these feelings, doesn’t that mean that God gave it to them?
no, God does not give people an inclination to sin. that inclination is called concupiscence, or desire for immoral things, and is a result of original sin. God does not “give” people disorders, even those that can be proven to be present from birth (as the homosexual inclination has NOT been proven) such as Down’s syndrom or diabetes. The disorders are present for a variety of reasons (genetic, mutation, in utero influence like drugs, accident during birth etc.) and like all disorder in the world are also the result of original sin. Even in such a disorder, and the homosexual inclination is inately disordered, whether present from birth or aquired due to some other influence out of the person’s control is not a sin, is not the person’s fault, but the person still needs to understand his disorder, to deal with it, to learn to avoid things that aggravate it, and understand that allowing the disorde to govern his actions will be harmful. A person with a strong tendency to alcoholism must learn to avoid alcohol. A person with a strong tendency to homosexual acts must learn to avoid them. Both persons are in danger of grave physical, mental and spiritual harm if they give in to these inclinations.I STRONGLY disapprove of homosexuality, but if someone has these feelings, doesn’t that mean that God gave it to them?
There was “scientific” conclusion about a “gay gene” NOT existing from recent studies in fruit flies. You’re right that they haven’t conclusively found any “gay gene.” Scientists typically dissent over this point, but as of now there is simply insufficient evidence for it…

Pedophiles have sexual feelings towards children, does that mean God gave them those feelings?I STRONGLY disapprove of homosexuality, but if someone has these feelings, doesn’t that mean that God gave it to them?
I think you might be thinking of Luke 12:48it should probably be clarified in this context as well, that while God does not will evil, does not will a child to be born with any disorder, does not will anyone to acquire a disorder, and that all suffering and disorder is the result of sin in the world, even the suffering of the innocent, he does permit suffering and disorder and wills the cooperation of the soul with His grace in order that the disorder and suffering may be used to the benefit of the soul, to bring this soul closer to God, to purify the soul and prepare the soul for eventual union with God.
For someone afflicted with this particular temptation or inclination, just as for someone with a physical disability, mental illness, personality disorder, born into poverty, or facing any other challenge, that becomes this person’s route to holiness. God does give each person the strength and grace needed to bear the affliction, and it is up to that person to avail himself of God’s freely given grace, and allow God to work in him, even as he battles that enemy.
can’t think where the quote is, bible or elsewhere (somebody here probably has a better memory than I) but as it says
Of whom much is asked, much is forgiven.
I’ve had to deal with very strong feelings of wanting to abuse drugs. Does that mean that God gave me the urge to drop acid?I STRONGLY disapprove of homosexuality, but if someone has these feelings, doesn’t that mean that God gave it to them?
I agree, it shouldn’t be SODD anyway. It’s SSA which is: Same Sex Attraction. You’re right that they haven’t conclusively found any “gay gene.” Scientists typically dissent over this point, but as of now there is simply insufficient evidence for it…
