In our image and likeness refers to their endowment with intellect and free will in imitation of God’s perfections of understanding and willing. Some of the Church Fathers saw in the use of the plural here and in Gen. 3:22 a veiled reference to the existence of more than one Person in God.God said, “Let us make man in **our **image and likeness”

So are suggesting we were designed by a committee? That would certainly explain a number of things.The Hebrew word is 'Elohim" can mean ‘gods’ or can mean a divine council.
