She believes that the soul will live on in God’s memory

Strange - especially in regards to good souls. Losing someone you love and having only memory of them falls so far short of having a living contact with them. Ask her, “Why would an all powerful God even create with that in mind - if that was to be the final end of His creation? Would He create just so He could have good memories?” (I’m presuming she at least believes God had a purpose in mind for creating us in the first place. What does she believe that purpose was?)

Or does she believe that good souls continue to exist eternally and only bad souls live on in God’s memory? That also makes no sense - since why would God do something that would give Him bad memories.

First–The JW’s don’t believe that Jesus is God.
Second–Christ did not take equality with God as something to be grasped at because Jesus didn’t need to grasp–He is God.

First, I know, so I can’t see much point in trying to discuss with them how God could be a liar and satan a truth giver. Many of them have fallen under the deceptions that can be put up using partial truths and reinforcing doubts about the truth that seem to arise from our own human nature. The trouble comes in when they witness these falsehoods as being supported by the scriptures, which they are not.
Secondly, I don’t think that passage is meant to demonstrate that the Son of God did not do what He did not need to do in the first place; not much point in that either, what I think it should do if taken in context is to lead us to appreciate what He did grasp at, and what He did take in hand; His love. He did not come among us as a tyrant ruler, but as one who serves, heals and redeems. So, I thought it might be a good passage for a JW to explain.
