Is it normal for some people to be angry towards God at the gender they were born with?Since it is totally out of ones control? I know someone who doesn’t like being a female and wishes she were male. Males have it easier in modern society, it’s a very hard life to be a woman now.

I couldn’t say what’s “normal” but I would ask “why?” It seems like railing at God for making it rain today when I wanted sunny weather, or putting the Rocky Mountain range in Colorado when I’d enjoy having it in my backyard.

Not every woman finds being a woman difficult.

I do not, but I have a teenage daughter who struggles very much with this. Although she understands very well that she is female, she desperately wishes that were not the case.

I don’t think it is normal, exactly, but it is her cross to bear and God knows her struggles . People who feel this way should not be dismissed because other people don’t experience their particular crosses, but they should be encouraged to work toward finding an appreciation for who God made them to be. This is made so much more difficult in the current political climate.

I think it’s normal to be angry at God for being born into any number of circumstances - poverty, disability, war-torn surroundings, etc. The key is to ask God how you are to become your best self in spite of - or even because of - what you were born with. What is He calling each of us to do in life?

I think it’s normal to feel angry at God when your ideal life or expectations aren’t meet, when you feel helpless to change certain circumstances. I know I did and, sometimes in times of despair, still do. It’s taken me years of continued prayer and countless tears of bitterness to realize such anger is ultimately futile and misplaced. God doesn’t want to punish you, He loves you as a Father and only wants what is best for you, even when you don’t fully understand the purpose of your current suffering. I find Romans 8 helpful in times of doubt, especially verses 18 and 28. I’m lucky that God has given me this faith to sustain me. I’ll pray that your friend will receive such faith.

People have it hard all around.
If someone wishes to pigeonhole themselves into some disadvantage based on their sex, they will likely have it harder then people that do not.

This concept of being angry at God is new to me. Lord knows I’ve been dealt the short end of the stick but I’ve never been angry at God. I’m thankful for his allowing me to be alive. Allowing me to have faith and hope that there is a better place to look forward to after the sigh of existence on this planet, after the brief flicker is extinguished Any existence where there is hope is better than never existing at all.

No.

Biological sex is the result of the X or Y chromosome of the sperm. It isn’t magical. God doesn’t “give” you a sex, your parents do.

It is likely that she has some serious psychological issues and needs appropriate care.

That is an opinion.

No, it’s not.
It’s a serious psychiatric condition.
It’s also seen a massive uptick in recent years, and the reasons are unclear, although social contagion seems to be a large part of it, along with gender clinics making a lot of money from people wanting to “transition”.

There is a huge difference between having gender dysohoria and struggling with reality that you are female, when you perceive that men have it better. To conflate the two could exacerbate the problem for many girls and women who are struggling with the latter.

I think some people are mad at God for many things, it’s not ‘normal’ just cos many or even some people are, no one should be mad at God, what it is, is sad, but God understands he made us he understands everything. Your friend is a wounded person, just like the rest of us only in her own way. She needs God to heal her, she’d have to want him to. But in all likelihood it’s the fault of the world that she feels that way, not God. The world makes her feel like she’d be better off being a man than being a woman (it’s a temptation really). You are right she can’t change it as this is what God has given her and it is good as He has chosen it for her. But feeling like that is tough. I don’t know which country your friend lives in but if it’s not a Western country then it may well be the case that being a woman is much harder than being a man or so it appears. God will give each person the grace they require to get to heaven. Pray for her.

I don’t understand why you told 1ke to be more understanding in the way he spoke. His statement was full of understanding and sympathy to the point where he gave helpful advice.

That would be a perception problem.

What is described is definitely not healthy.
This person is angry about their sex, because they perceive the other as having an easier time.
Presumably they would want to be the opposite sex to work around some problem they perceive women have that men do not.

Perhaps not gender dysphoria, but there is some psychological issue at work here.

Well, but He does give you gender.
No, your parents give you a gender through the meeting of sperm and egg.
It cannot be that God has no influence on your character, your sex.
Character is not a biological element. It’s a socio-cultural aspect of personality that is influenced by many factors.

Sex is a biological reality based on the meeting of sperm and egg.
You are all made exactly as he wanted you to be.
God set biological mechanisms in motion. The material world works through the laws of nature.
Be careful, there is no room for error or “unplanned cases” in God’s creation.
Foreknowledge is not the same as direct intervention in each creation. God created the normal way in which babies are made.

He doesn’t supernaturally interfere with that in the normal course of events. He may have intervened in specific extraordinary cases-- such as conception of John the Baptist-- or he may not have. We don’t actually know.
It’s undeniably a result of biological mechanisms, but it’s all part of the Lord’s Plan.
Depending on what you mean by “plan”.

I’m a she.

Thank you for your comments.

😂 Oops, that’s the second time I made the same wrong assumption this week!

One side of the a made up problem. If you’ve never been a man then you are speaking from one side of a made up problem.
