general confession

Please pray for me as I try to discern whether or not to make a general confession of all my sins that I can remember my whole life. I am afraid to do this, but I think I should. Please help me overcome my fear and make a good, thorough general confession, and also my discernment as to whether or not I should actually do this. Thanks!

May you be upheld and surrounded by flocks of Guardian Angels, and may St. Michael the Archangel defeat the demons of shyness, uncertainty, loss of nerve, and any others that might hope to plague you in this holy endeavor.
 
ishii, I repeat jmcrae’s prayer. I urge you to make your general confession. I completely understand being afraid; I was in your shoes at one time. Please know that your priest will understand also. God’s blessings be upon you.

praying that you may have courage to get to the confessional - that is the hardest part! Also praying that God will give you wisdom and the clarity needed to make a good confession.

~ it’ll be hard to remember everything for your whole life but the sins you do remember are probably the most significant ~ it’s a win win situation ~ you really have nothing to lose

Ishii, as God has put this desire in your heart, may God also give you the grace to trustingly go through with it, towards the healing and new life God offers you through this general confession! Best wishes!
 
Lord, may Ishii know that he/she will be confessing to You personally in the Sacrament and, thus, has nothing to worry about. May Ishii not give in to worry and temptation before the actual general confession and not put this noble decision off. Ishii will feel like he/she’s in heaven when he/she gets out of the confessional. Help Ishii go through with what you have put on his/her heart to do. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer. Amen.
