Our Lord in Heaven,

Hear our prayers for the poor. Give them this day their daily bread. Let them find the means to make their ends meet. Soften the hearts of their creditors, especially their landlords and their utility-companies, so that they can be sheltered. Soften their own hearts, so that they do not bear this cross of poverty indignantly or resenting you, Lord, and forgive them if they do. Bless them, heavenly father, so that the poor-in-life are rich in spirit.

Hear our prayers for the homeless. Soften the hearts of the rich and the fortunate, so that through the volunteering of worldly goods, the homeless can be clothed and sheltered. Soften the hearts of those who are able, so that, through the volunteering of personal time, the homeless can be attended to. We beg your mercy for them, lord, especially in this season, that you do not send the weather down too harshly or too suddenly.

Hear our prayers for the hungry. Show them to suffer their pains well, but let their hunger be satiated! Multiply the offerings of food and money and work, so that those who have can feed those who have not.

Lord please give hope to the weary and sustanance to the poor.
In the name of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit, Amen.

:highprayer:

Jesus said, “blessed are the poor in spirit.”
We pray for the children, women, and men across the world who struggle each day to survive, pitted against economic conditions beyond their control. Give them strength to meet each day and hope for a different future.

Jesus said, “blessed are the peacemakers.”
We pray for the people and groups of people campaigning for change to harmful economic policies. May the call for just trade, an end to debt, and more and better aid echo across the world.

Jesus said, “blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness
.” We pray for the leaders and politicians with the power to change things.
We pray especially for the decisionmakers at the United Nations as they struggle with the question of poverty.
Help them to take the side of the poor, to resist the voices of self-interest and complacency, and to make bold choices for the good of all people.
We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and friend of the poor.
Amen.

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

SACRED Heart of Jesus, we know that there is but one thing impossible to You: to be without pity for those who are in suffering or distress. Look down on us, we beg of You and grant us the grace which we humbly and earnestly implore, through the Immaculate Heart of Your most sorrowful Mother to whom You confided us as her children, and whose prayers are all powerful with You. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women and
blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

For those in physical, emotional, or spiritual need, we offer our prayers, and where possible, we resolve to give practical assistance…while also asking You our God to alert and inspire those who are specifically able to help those suffering and in need.

Jesus, inspire us with gospel love for others. Knowing that each person is Your beloved, we ask that You reveal those who are in need amongst us. Alert us to those who feel unable to request help or cannot believe in its availability. Alert us to those whose poverty or anxieties make life seem endless struggle.

Alert us to the lonely, unwanted and forgotten ones, anyone whose self-worth desperately needs affirmation. Bring before us those who suffer disappointment, tragedy, or upheaval, and who need others’ support until they rethink their lives and attitudes.

Alert us to those who are scarred or crushed by sins or guilt, so that through us You may express Your forgiveness, love and acceptance of them, and encourage their reconciliation. Search out to us those who are in danger of losing their faith if no one shows them Christian love and witness. Reveal to us anyone whose ability to persevere hangs on another’s kindness, inspiration or friendship.

Alert those amongst us who would willingly serve if they become aware of another’s pain and need. Lead us to share our gifts with others with wisdom, cheerfulness, humility, gentleness and strength. In our dealings with others, let us bring living Christ.

Let those who are incapacitated or suffering offer their difficulties and joys to intercede for love and justice in our community and in our world. Let these blessed-deprived ones, along with all who are prayerful, unite their offering with the service of the prayerfully active, to bring Your kingdom of love amongst us.

Thank You for all healing and compassion that You activate in our hearts for others. We pray to act upon this compassion to assist each other in appropriate and valuable ways.

PATER NOSTER,
qui es in caelis,
sanctificetur nomen tuum.
Adveniat regnum tuum.
Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra.
Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie,
et dimitte nobis debita nostra
sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris.
Et ne nos inducas in tentationem,
sed libera nos a malo. Amen.

Hail Mary conceived without sin.
Pray for us who have recourse to thee.

Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.!
