Genesis 1--dry LAND?

First, let me confess my ignorance of Hebrew!

It SEEMS, but I surely do not know, that land is added by the translators, is it?

What does yabbashah actaully mean?

If you have more time and generosity, how does the LXX translated yabbashah?

Does that translated word appear in the New Testament?

The word simply means dry ground, that seems to be the usage in all the Hebrew OT, it is translated ξηρὰν, which means dry or withered. This word is not always used to translated yabbashah, but it is the translation of yabbashah in Genesis 1:10.

ξηρὰν is used many times in the OT where yabbashah is not.

ξηρὰν is used in the NT in Matthew 12:10, 23:15; Luke 6:6, 6:8, 23:31; John 5:3; Hebrew 11:29

Matt 12:10 And, behold, there was a man which had [his] hand withered ξηράν]. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.

Mark 3:3 and Luke 6:8 use the word in their telling of the same event

Mt 23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and **land ** ξηρὰν] to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

Lk 23:31 For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry ξηρῶ]?

John 5:3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, witheredξηρῶν], waiting for the moving of the water.

Hebrews 11:29 By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land ξηρᾶς γῆς] : which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.
