So in comparing the DRA (Douay Rheims American) translation ‘‘I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel.’’

versus say ‘‘and I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: he shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.’’ ASV

Why the difference in gender? Shouldn’t that be clear in the Hebrew?

The Explanatory Notes in the RSV-CE indicate that the female gender was possibly due to a copyist’s mistake. The RSV-CE utilizes the male gender in this verse, and the notes state “the seed of the woman, that is, mankind descended from Eve, will eventually gain the victory over the powers of evil. This victory will, of course, be gained through the work of the Messiah who is par excellence the seed of the woman.” The Explanatory Notes further state that the female gender adaptation of this verse (as used in the Latin Vulgate and other bible translations) was seen to contain a genuine meaning of its own since “Mary, too, would have her share in the victory, inasmuch as she was mother of the Savior.”

A woman’s part in reproduction was never referred to as giving “seed”. This type of expression is about as unusual as having a birth with no male “seed” involved.

Sarah’s legal use of her “handmaid” not “servant” as a surrogate mother was explicitly described as raising up seed to herself. The pronouns in Genesis 3:15 are non-gender determinative, better translated by this phony compound I just invented, S/HE, see?
And the word “SEED” is a collective term nicely describing the BODY OF CHRIST! There is no seed of the Woman (the title Christ used of His mother) there at the time of God’s cursing Lucifer & Fiends with the Woman & Seed and the obstinant scholar who hob-nobbed with his Jewish scholar buddies, Saint Jerome, is quite rightly justified in what is his Douay-Rheims translation of the SNAKE HEAD-CRUSHING WOMAN! Girls, get your tent pegs ready. Ladies, get your sword of Holofernes raised. This, in short, isn’t news that women are to go for the head shot.

The mistranslation or misdirection begins in woman’s being cloned from Adam’s tissue and “REFINED”, an exalting term; and being created as Adam’s “HELPMATE” without notice that this word is used only of God! She is as one bringing water to a world dying of thirst. The Virgin Mary–blessed among all women so therefore all the womanly elect and their collective Seed–is not the salvific water, is not touched by sin or dying of thirst, but she brings the Messiah, her Seed. Again, the Woman as Genesis HELPMATE is better translated as LIFESAVER!

So now can we keep the ladies in the Bible? This is a “Who’s yo’ mama” defining moment. There is no seed there, right? The divine power and authority to crush Satan’s snakey head is given TO AND THROUGH the Woman to her Seed, Christ’s motherly title of power and authority with Christ as the Body of Christ making us her “other children” as in Apocalypse 12.

This is a family affair from the first, and the words of the Archangel Gabriel are (as unwittingly explained by Jewish scholar Savina Teubal in her book on Sarah), the Ancient Sacred Wedding Rite as tersely put as angels are wont to do. The Virgin Mary is getting married to the Holy Spirit and her Seed is unleashed on the satanic death-dealers, upholding life and blessing for all eternity. FIAT MIHI!

The Virgin Mary is fully and divinely authorized and empowered to crush the snake coiling about the crown of the world, Russia, per her Fatima revelations, and save as helpmate the Russian people and bring peace to the world. To delay or defer her request and God’s will is madness. Pray the daily Rosary for peace; and exalt the Immaculate Heart with humble devotion to her flawless, unconquerable love of God and man.

**If you’d like to obey God’s request at Fatima “to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart,” join the Archconfraternity of the Immaculate Heart of Mary established in 1836 in Paris, France, with the duty to pray one “Hail, Mary” daily for sinners, the Holy Father, and the Church. This reminds me of the position of some scholars, such as Albertus Pieters and Arthur Pink, who highlight the unusual expression of a “woman’s seed.” Pink takes this so far as to indicate that Gn 3:15 is a prophetic announcement about the virgin birth.

However, this is not as unusual as one might expect. For example, in the very next chapter Seth is described as the “seed” of Eve (Gn 4:25).

I recognize that this is a little different than what you were talking about (reproductive act vs. actual child), though.
