Genesis 8 - Yahweh appears as a man?

In today’s reading, Abraham was visited by three men, who were identified as the Lord himself and two angels. Umm, how are we to think of this? Did God the Father really take on true human form? It surely can’t be that, as nobody can behold the face of the Father, right. I mean, the incarnation was Christ, and God as man was/is the key reason the Jewish rejected Christianity. So really, what is going on in this passage?

Some have theorized that the Lord in this passage was Jesus. Since He is God, and time means nothing to God, He could have been there, so goes the story. No idea what the Church actually thinks about it.
 
Justin Martyr talks about this in the ECF… In his Dialogue with Typhro…
 
Whenever God makes an appearance in the O. T., it is Christ.
 
Actually, it is Genesis 18. From the Haydock Commentary:
Ver. 2. Men in outward appearance, but angels indeed. (Hebrews xiii. 2; St. Augustine, City of God xvi. chap. 29.) Some have supposed, that one of them was the Son of God, whom Abraham adored, and who bears throughout the chief authority. Tres vidit et unum adoravit. He saw three and adored one, as we read in the Church office. In the former supposition, which is generally adopted, this adoration was only a civil ceremony, if Abraham considered them as mere men; or it might be mixed with a degree of religious, though inferior veneration, if he imagined they were angels; or in fine, he adored God in his representatives.
