I understand other threads have been opened concerning these subjects and it would be great for anyone to direct me to a few great links.
Yet I have a few questions.
I understand the Church has declared that indeed Adam and Even existed, yet at the same time I heard John Paul II said that it is okay to believe in evolution as long as God is behind it and at one stage infused an immortal soul into the complete human being.
For the Pope to allow the belief in evolution as state above would not make sense. Evolution says we evolved from primitive ancestors and therefore our “parents” were not Adam and Eve but the many, many fully evolved human beings. This would render the belief in Adam and Eve as our first parents and incompatible.
Can someone shed some light for me, Thanks.
