I bow, because if I go down on one or both knees, there will be no getting up!!!😃
I’m not quite there yet but I’m beginning to think it would help to have some JATO rockets strapped to my butt to help propel me back up after kneeling 😃

I also never used to see the point of SUVs until my Golf was at the dealer once for servicing, and I sat in an SUV in the showroom, and realized that it was a heck of a lot easier to get in and out of, but unfortunately I have a 98 km each-way commute and need the fuel efficiency of my Golf diesel.

Joe Kelley says…"Earlier, I was taught one knee when it is in the Tabernacle, both knees when it is exposed. The habit is too ingrained in me to change now. "

I had never heard this before, but it certainly seems like the right thing to do. Thanks for sharing.

There are SUV’s that get great gas mileage. I own a 2010 GMC Terrain and it is rated for 32 mpg, I have actually mpg of 28.3 over almost 15,000 miles. This includes city miles.

That sounds like a prostration, not a genuflection. (the East still prostrates)

The Asians kneel and put their forehead to the floor. The only prostrations I am familiar with in the Western liturgies are the beginning of the Good Friday liturgy, where the clergy prostrate themselves at the beginning, and at ordinations, where the candidates for ordination prostrate themselves at one point. In these cases it means lying flat on the floor. I suspect I may be in error in assuming that this is what it refers to in the Eastern liturgies.

That would still kill me. My Golf gets 50 mpg on the highway, and I can actually beat that by driving at the speed limit 😉

It’s also a stick shift so my left knee at least, gets plenty of exercise to keep me kneeling for a few more years in church. Biking takes care of the rest.
