The discussion group is to speak about the “tension” that exists in the Catholic Church between the “life reality” and the “teaching of the Church.”
Uhhh, that’s called sin.

If there is no tension between the Church’s doctrine and the world, the whole of which “is seated in wickedness” (1 John 5:19), then we’re doing it wrong. The solution is repentance, forgiveness, and reconciliation, not accommodation.

Too many bishops give the impression that the Tradition they are charged with handing on is not a treasure to be cherished and shared, but a burden or obstacle preventing them from doing what they really want to do…

Are there also going to be blessings for cohabiting couples, is that already in place?

There is the original letter, but unfortunately, it is in German.

Pope Pius XI in Casti Connubii wrote about the dignity of Christian marriage and the errors against it. The section below was written after a discussion about the evil of contraception. Since the teaching of the Church about homosexual acts is quite clear, and since a “blessing” is an implied endorsement, I would say Pius’ warning below is quite appropriate for any priest, bishop or deacon who would bless such a union:

57.If any confessor or pastor of souls, which may God forbid, lead the faithful entrusted to him into these errors or should at least confirm them by approval or by guilty silence, let him be mindful of the fact that he must render a strict account to God, the Supreme Judge, for the betrayal of his sacred trust, and let him take to himself the words of Christ: "They are blind and leaders of the blind: and if the blind lead the blind, both fall into the pit.
