Pls. inform the apologists interested in debating Matatics. Personally, I think Sungenis is the best guy to take him. Despite the controversies Sungenis has been involved with, I still think he is the best debater we have today.

I can’t wait to hear these debates. I have listened to hundreds of debates between Catholics and various religions as well as Catholic tradtionalists vs sedevacantists etc. and I love them. We can learn so much from them. As an apologist, I think Gerry Matatics is brilliant. It is unfortunate that he is now a sedevacantist, but I was much more impressed with him and his skills when he was not a sedevacantist than other leading apologists such as Scott Hahn etc. Perhaps he will revert back and renounce sedevacantism. I hope the format is good. I don’t like the 20 mins eaither side - rebuttal etc. I like a more fast paced debate, perhaps 20 mins at the start but then interaction and direct answers. Anyway, I will definately look foward to hearing the debates!

One thing caught my eye from that web site;

"antipope John XXIII’s unauthorized 1962 missal "

That’s Blessed John XXIII, to be specific.

Congrads Gerry, you’re officially a Protestant now!

He claims to be a Protestant convert to Catholicism.

Scott Hahn covered some of Gerry’s story in “Rome Sweet Home”, so I knew he converted from Protestantism before. But it does look as if he went from one side of the Tiber to another, because calling someone who is a Blessed an “antipope” isn’t exactly a ringing endorsement for someone’s orthodoxy.

I don’t like debates, I think they are a bloke thing, they prove nothing about the topic and only show who was the best debater on that occasion.

Gerry read Papal and Church Council documents; and applied his own brand of “Sola Scriptura” in the process. The result: Gerry concluded that he: Gerald Christian Matatics, has a better understanding of the teachings of the Church than the almost 2,000 years old Church herself has. 🤷

The insults he throws at the Church are bad enough; but the awful truth that he`s in the same camp as the Dimond brothers makes one veritably shudder! :eek:

Gerry doesn`t have a very high opinion of “Father Ratzinger”.

The “Catholicism” to which Gerry belongs has very few members. Apart from himself, and presumably his family, the Dimond brothers, the members of the Society of Saint Pius the Fifth (SSPV)…there aren`t too many others.
