Get message of Revelation: 3:16 to a friend?

I was talking a friend of mine living in another state and mentioning to him about going to the church and pray more.

He is a good guy and goes to Sunday, and considers that to be ok enough.

I sent him this verse and have to wait for him to respond to this.

Revelation: 3:16 But since you are lukewarm and not hot or cold, I’m going to spit you out of my mouth.

I was wondering how often we think of the verse above or to remind your closed ones/friends about it?

I used it once to my close friend. I think it could either bring people closer or further from the Church. Thus, it should be used carefully as people could think that they are being attacked.

Agreed. I’d lay a lot of careful groundwork before springing this on someone. The only thing worse to address to them would be something like:

Lu 10:11 -
‘Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet, we wipe off against you; nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God has come near.’

I dont know Water. I think you know your friend well enough to know his disposition on things like this, but it may make him think you are using scare tactics and making him do things out of fear instead of desire and love.

But, fear is a good motivator on the other hand too.

You know best what may work.
