I have read a book called “Get us out of here”, basically it is about a woman who can communicate with the people in purgatory. I did alittle more research on this subject and found that this occured to other Saint’s, What does the RC Church have to say on this instance? 🤷
How credible are the things they “people in purgatory” have to say?

I read it too. All I can say is that private apparitions should be read without giving any ascent until the Universal Catholic Church approves of it. Other than that, it was an interesting read.

If that was the case history would repeat it self over and over, when would it end. As far as the bible goes, phrophets received revelations yet not all believed. Jesus did tell his Disciples “if it is something good it is of God, if it is evil it is of satan”

I’m not with you there.

Just a pre-emptive reminder to our readers that unapproved private revelations are a banned discussion topic. Please see the Spirituality sticky threads for more details.

I think this book is not credible since it comes down very heavily on communion in the hand. I think the co-author has an aggenda. He actually published a book against communion in the hand. The previous book(let) I found very interesting and credible. It was co-authored by Sister Emmanuel.

The book, “The Forty Dreams of St. Don Bosco,” the saint describes his visit to purgatory. It was so beautiful, he at first thought he was in heaven. Then he met some of the boys he had helped who were in purgatory. They asked that he tell people to pray for them.

This book has an imprimatur so I would assume that the Church does think communication with those in Purgatory is possible:

I read this book in high school, and it scared the heck out of me. Prior to that, I always thought that Purgatory was no big deal, but this made me really want to avoid it. As I recall, it does discuss many incidences were saints have had visions/communication with those in Purgatory.

Since these are all “private rvelations”, I haven’t bothered reading any of them. I know the Church’s teaching about Purgatory, and that I can assist the poor souls with prayers, indulgences etc etc up to and including the heroic act. Maybe that is all I really need to know?🤷
