When I pray for a longer period of time I tend to feel like I am floating and somehow disconnected to reality and easily distracted, seemingly absent minded to the outside, as if I am not really there, or I get the sensation of floating in the air.

And I when I do really long prayers such as litanies I even hear a voice in my mind that gives me advice, and I see images in my head.

So how you “land” again after long prayers?

And am I the only one who experiences this?

thanks. 🙂

Web you pray you disconnect from your senses and all the stuff of this world. Some people resist and we all have trouble with distractions from the world while we pray. So landing is done slowly, once more becoming aware of the body and surroundings, A few deep breaths, re grounding.

Good advice, thanks.
I thought i was the only one who has this. 🙂

Though I mainly get distracted by seeing things in my mind, making me absent minded.

And there is that moment when you see the light.
(But that only happened once to me) 🙂

Some have gifts that others don’t have. Seek out a devout priest, and ask his guidance. He could help you much more and maybe even help you to improve on what you are doing right now.

When he has time i will, thanks. 🙂

But timing huh… 😃

What a great topic! I’m quite interested to read the insights in future posts in this thread.

Thanks.
I usually don’t talk about this. 😊
It’s a good topic. It can be quite jarring to have been blessed with a deep prayer experience, and then to just open your eyes and be in your office cubicle, or staring at a blank wall, or seeing the dishes in the sink.

The sudden, often jolting return to “reality” can sometimes generate some negative emotions and feelings. Hearing other peoples ideas and techniques for easing back into the world could be quite helpful in developing our own technique.
