Getting A card for Parish priest for Father's Day?

A lot of people do it. Also consider getting your parish to observe Priesthood Sunday, though, which is the last Sunday of October. (See the Serra Club web site for details.)

I know we call them “fathers”, that they’re spiritual fathers, but that’s a bit of a stretch, to put it mildly. And Father’s Day is basically a commercial creation to boost sales. His birthday is the most opportune time to express whatever you wish to express.

Or better yet the anniversary of his ordination.
 
My local Catholic bookstore has a nice selection of Father’s Day cards that are specific for a priest. 😉
 
Many years ago, way before I became Catholic, when I worked in a Catholic hospital, Fr. Richard was the chaplain there. He was a Fransican friar, OFM. (retired from being a parish priest, I believe he was in his early 70’s) He was a wonderful man! When father’s day came around, I bought him some candy and a card and gave it to him. He was touched and told me so. I have such fond memories of him. He’s long gone now and I still remember what a kind and good man and priest he was.
So yup, I have also given cards and gifts to priests through the years since I’ve become Catholic.

A beautiful concept and one in which the whole Parish may well wish to sign - best purchase two or three to leave in your Parish foyer! LOL!
