Getting a Rosary Blessed

[DeusIbiEst]

Hello! New here, and I hope this is the right topic to ask this question.

My younger brother is going through confirmation, and I am his sponsor. I want to make him a St. Patrick rosary (his confirmation saint) and I’d like to get it blessed. Since it is such a special occasion, I was wondering, is there anyway to send items to the Vatican to get them blessed? It’s probably a long shot, but I thought I would check. If not, I’ll get it blessed by the Bishop here and it will still be wonderful.

Thank you!

I think you can find a Roman citizen on on Facebook or somewhere else and ship him/her your Rosary and let him/her go to the Vatican and get the Rosary blessed. Of course, gratuity is appreciated.

That’s nice of you

A Rosary is actually one of the 4 articles of devotion which, if blessed by the Holy Father or by any bishop, can give “a Plenary Indulgence on the feast of the Holy Apostles, Peter and Paul, provided [the person] also makes a profession of faith according to any legitimate formula.” (Enchiridion of Indulgences)

I don’t know how to have it blessed by the Holy Father (I believe in Rome the Holy Father blesses these items in the Wednesday General Audiences…), but you can try to have it blessed by your Bishop and it would still be a very special gift!

Thank you all for your help! I’ll see what I can do about finding an Italian, and if not, I will be able to get it to my Bishop
