Getting confirmed into the Roman Catholic Church this year

I am getting confimed into the church this year (8th grade), and I want to know, was it a good experience for those who are already confirmed? I wonder when I am getting confirmed. I hope it’s soon. Some churches are doing it in November! I hope it is soon! So, how was confirmation for you already confirmed?
 
It felt very natural, none of us were nervous at all! What a great experience too! Having the bishop lay his hands on our head is something you’ll remember forever! You might or might not feel different afterwards.🙂
 
I was pretty young when I was confirmed; we did it in 4th grade back then. I’m sure it was a wonderful day, but I don’t remember a whole lot about it. (I remember my First Communion more clearly.)

The great thing about Confirmation is that, even though you only receive it once, you can “use” it throughout your life. You receive the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, and you can open these gifts (again and again) whenever you need them. For example, when I need to make an important decision, I ask the Holy Spirit to “activate” the Gift of Counsel I received at my Confirmation.

So, I think I appreciate my Confirmation now even more than I did when I first received it.
 
Confirmation was and is extremely wonderful for me. The day itself was pretty casual and nothing out of the ordinary happened. But knowing the sacrament happened that day and being reminded how lucky I am throughout my adult life has been amazing. I am so glad I was confirmed at the time I was confirmed.

I’m sorry if it’s vague, I cannot put into words well the spiritual difference. But trust me that I really love having been confirmed.
 
I have had the grace of serving as a Confirmation sponsor on several occasions since my own a few years ago. You could say that I enjoyed Confirmation so much I decided to keep living it through the candidates I sponsored! One thing that is important to remember is that receiving the great grace that is Confirmation does not (and should not) erase all of your questions/concerns/uneasiness about the faith. I would encourage you to continue to engage your faith in a prayerful way. Let the Spirit guide the deepening of your faith through prayer and study. Know that you are in my prayers!
