Getting Items Blessed

Should we always have statues and rosaries blessed before using them in prayer, also if I have a rosary blessed is it bad to hang in my car on the rear view mirror, i also wear a crucifix but should i have that blessed too. When it becomes blessed is it making it more of a protection against evil.

Hello,
I do not think something needs to be blessed to pray with it. I usually, though if I like to pray with a certain rosary like to have ti blessed. I look at having things blessed as bringing us closer to God in prayer with that item.
As for the rear view mirror, I would ask your parish priest. Don’t be afriad that is what he is there for, to help you in your faith. Surely he wont scold you for it.

Get the car blessed whilst you’re at it.

Christ has given us Priests with sacred powers! Take full advantage of them!

It’s perfectly fine to pray with your rosary beads and other things before they are blessed, but you recieve special indulgences and graces when they are blessed.

Blessing something doesn’t make it a protection against evil, it makes the object dedicated for prayer and use in worship. You should treat it with respect including when you dispose of it.
