I beleive that some Orthodox monastics are permitted meat at times. I could be entirely wrong, but I seem to think that a particular ROA monastery I visited permitted meat on special occasions.

I have been served meat in Orthodox monasteries here in the US, in Greece, Russia, Serbia, Romania and throughout the Middle East, in both Byzantine monasteries and Coptic monasteries, and have been told by Orthodox monastics over and over that most Orthodox monastics do in fact eat meat. Even on Mt Athos I was served lamb eating at table with the monks and they were also eating lamb, so I see nothing wrong with the HRM monks to eat meat outside of fasting periods.
