Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Only two Sundays left in this Church Year. Nov. 23 is the Feast of Christ the King and the following Sunday is the First Sunday in Advent – the beginning of a new Church Year. During Advent, we begin again preparing for Christ’s Birth --pondering and living His life death, resurrection and ascension until He comes again in Glory at the end of time.
Are we “Getting Ready” ???
By God’s Grace, I hope many of us are. Some, I know are preparing as St. Louis De Montfort suggests with 33 Days to consecrate or reconsecrate themselves to Jesus through Mary on Dec. 8 the Feast of her Immaculate Conception. Others perhaps are less concerned with spiritual things, but the Church in her wisdom reminds us we are here on earth only a short time. We are destined for an eternal home.
Each new liturgical year, we ponder the beautiful mysteries of Jesus and Mary, and to a lesser extent but importantly St. Joseph, learning by the power of the Holy Spirit, to be meek and humble of heart, worthy sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father.
