Getting to Know God Question/Thought

The priest today spoke of our duties as Christians is to get to know God which I agree. Now this reminds me of the goat and the lamb.
Anyway, I learned that Jesus chose to not use His gift to know everything all the time to experience what it is to be human as He is both human and Divine. I do not remember what this was from but I could be wrong with that.
This thought came to my head and I was not sure if this could be possible and I wanted a better understanding. Could what I learned about Christ on earth be also with our relationship with God?
He choses to not know everything about us, even though God does, to give us the freedom to come to Him?
Thus to get to Heaven as we all have learned we must not accept only Christ as our Savior but to live our lives to become Christ on earth. Then Christ will not say to us that He does not know us but will welcome us home.
Our relationship with God is just like a relationship with everyone else.
Could it also be that God knows us and knows what we go through but He also desires for us to come to Him and tell Him everything but He chooses not to know for us to come to Him?
I do not know if I am repeating myself or if it is understood but I thought I would bring it up and see what others thought. I would like to know if I am going in the wrong direction or if this is right then where does this come from so I can learn more. I would also love just to see what people think too.

I don’t quite understand this, though. Doesn’t Jesus as God the Son know everything about us, our every little thought and feeling? Since Jesus is the One Who will judge us, He would have to know every thread of what is inside of us, right?

I’m having a hard time following your thoughts here. For some of them I can think of possible instances where you could be correct, but not as an overall defining theme. I guess I’d have to know where you were going with all this to give you a better answer, I just don’t think I grasp enough of what you are saying to fully understand and give a good response. Please think about it and give us a little more info! I’d love to help/put my 2 cents in…

He always knows whether we will come to Him or not; He’s God. I find it tremendously comforting to know that no matter how hard I fall, He knew that I would fall and because of His love for me, He has determined to forgive me. That’s not like any relationship we can have here on earth. To think that God, the Creator of all things seen and unseen, loves me that intensely is incredible.

The goat and the lamb? I don’t know that story. Are you talking about the goats and the sheep?

Jesus choose not to know everything? I’ve not heard that, either.

Jesus IS God so what you know about God applies to Jesus.

I don’t know how not knowing about us would help us come to Jesus. Jesus knows all.

Jesus will say He does not know us in that He will not recognize our cries of “Lord, Lord” if we have not lived as if He truly is our Lord.

Our relationship with God is to be truly unitive. Our relationships with other persons are but faint foreshadowings of that ultimate relationship with God. They are not the same thing.

God cannot know and choose not to know at the same time. He knows all.
