Friends,
I would like to know if there are any books that you would recommend that I can read to learn more about Mother Mary’s life.
I just think this would really help me know her more and be a better mother. She was the ultimate!!
Thanks for your help.
Blessings,
Eli

True Devotion to Mary and The Secret of Mary, by Louis Marie de Montfort.

The Reed of God - Caryll Houselander

Really changed my whole perspective on Mary.

City of God by Ven. Mary of Agreda
The Seeker’s Guide to Mary by Maria Ruiz
Hail, Holy Queen by Scott Hahn
I second the books by St. Louis de Montfort!

Eli… I’ve always thought that the Gospel of Luke (Especially, the “Infancy” narratives) are a good way to start meditation on the life of Our Blessed Mother.

Then, if you’re interested in purchasing books, dvds, cds… etc. on the life of Our Lady… you might want to look at EWTN’s site. (Link below). They have a nice selection of materials. Hope this helps.

What we know about Mary is mostly through speculation and oral tradition. Nonetheless, there is an excellent Jesuit writer who put together the most wonderful book on Mary using these speculation and tradition.

Try to find The Silence of Mary by Ignacio Larañaga, SJ

I loved it.

Fraternally,

JR 🙂
