Two must watch videos to understand Pope Francis’s Mission:
A powerful documentary from the Knights of Columbus:

and George Weigel’s 10 Things to Know About Pope Francis:

I like George Weigl, but the second one is one hour and 20 minutes long. Can you just tell me what he said?

At minute 24:10 he goes into the list of 10 things. You can speed up the actual video to 1.5x or 2x the speed on the bottom right of the video there is an option to scroll through the speeds.George tends to speak exhaustively slow.

Weigel doesn’t say ANYTHING in this video. His bottom line is that the Pope is Catholic and a Jesuit. Thanks be to God.

Pope Francis, friend of sinners.
Pope Francis, merciful shepherd.
Pope Francis, loving father.
Pope Francis, humble servant.
Pope Francis, leader of the Church.

The OP identifies the speaker as George
Will.
The person intruducing the speaker introduces him as George Weigel.
Does @Gab123 know the diference between the two men?

I’ll use say that he has done some good things, and some bad things, and I’ll leave it at that.

Keep in mind, I am in no place to judge the Supreme Pontiff, I am just expressing my personal opinion.

some bad things
Like what exactly? I view him as a living Saint and one of the greatest Pontiffs in the history of the Church… I’d like to know what he’s done that’s bad?

Is it because he doesn’t speak about abortion 350 times a day, every day? Or because he doesn’t go around condemning and judging people? Or because he wants to help people who are living in sin return to the Faith? Or because he is an advocate for the poor and the refugee?

What has he done so bad?

If you look at my original comment, I said Inwas going to leave it at that.

That’s unacceptable my friend.

If the Vicar of Christ is doing bad things, I want to know about it. What bad things has Pope Francis done?

I love Pope Francis as much as my biological father. If you’re going to accuse my papa of doing “bad things” in public, I’m gonna pursue you for an explanation.

The pope is simply echoing the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Politically opposing abortion and Gay marriages not the only thing catholics should be concerned about.

In fact the there are four particular mortal sins that are so evil that they are said to be sins that cry to heaven for vengeance:
  1. Murder (Gn 4:10)
  2. Sodomy (Gn 17:20-21)
  3. Oppression of the poor (Ex 2:23)
  4. Defrauding workers of their just wages (Jas 5:4).
The pope is reminding us all of us about this.

In Sweden the pope urged atonement and Christian reconciliation. He also acknowledge that the Reformation helped give greater centrality to sacred Scripture in the church’s life, which is certainly true. It was the Reformation that led to the Church’s great Counter-Reformation through which God raised great doctors of the Church like St. Teresa of Avila and St. John of the Cross, who renewed the religious life of the Church with the reforming of convents and a strong catechesis. Ignatius of Loyola and the Jesuits spearheaded the CounterReformation.

The Reformation was what led the Church to convene the Council of Trent. So God brought good out of the bad. Luther had a right to complain about the corruption, though he didn’t have a right to invent doctrine and discard Church teachings, which brought so much division int the Church.

Also, a heretic is a Catholic that denies Catholic doctrine and is excommunicated by the Church. So one cannot call 21st century Lutherans heretics, as most are probably not converts to Lutheranism from Catholicism.

Satanic lies.

He didn’t say any of those things - what paragraph of AL did he say #6 or #7?

If you cannot show where he actually said any of this, please edit your post so you don’t spread satanic disinformation.

Instead of reading Pope bashing articles from dissident groups like the SSPX, why not read Pope defending articles from obedient and faithful Catholics? http://www.patheos.com/blogs/scottericalt/response-filial-correction-part-6/

I don’t read from the SSPX, I got that from the Correctio filialis, the filial correction of Pope Francis signed by 45 scholars, Cardinals and Patriarchs of the Eastern Church. In it, they list specifically the passages from Amoris Laetitia that are contrary to Church teaching. I’ll link to it here, so you may read it for yourself:

Correctio filialis
