A small intention compared with the others here …

Yesterday after work, my car broke down and had to be towed back to my apartment. Since it’s a long holiday 4th of July weekend, many of the mechanics are on vacation and I’m not sure whether the car can be repaired in time for Sunday Mass, and it’s my only transportation.

I will of course be calling car repair shops first thing tomorrow morning, and hoping that somebody will be able to fix the car before then, that my car can be towed to the shop okay, and that somehow I can come up with transportation.

Meanwhile, I’m pretty much stuck in my apartment. I am alone and have no family in Ohio.

Thank you in advance for any prayers you can say!

Loving Jesus I pray that phoenix may receive the necessary help to get the car back.

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

:crossrc:

Dear Lord please help the phoenix in these issues regarding the car,
and also please give this person true kind friends for company and for support.
Thank You Lord

Prayers for getting to Mass are no small intention! 😉
DH works in the auto industry and there are many shops open tomorrow in our area…so hopefully you can find one in your area which will be able to fix whatever ails your car (for a reasonable amount!) and you can get to Mass this weekend…:signofcross:

Assuming that you can’t walk to a Catholic Church, don’t they have taxicabs or car services in your area, so you can get to Mass?

I see you hail from New York City. If I lived there, getting a taxi would be no problem.
As it is, tomorrow I will be making phone calls and doing my best to figure out options.
I am basically asking for prayers so that things will go well.
Thank you.

Thank you to rafarose, Francie3, and h(name removed by moderator)forlife
for the kindness of your prayers!

Praying for this to work out.

Try calling your parish, most likely they can help arrange a ride for you, I’m sure there is another parishioner near you and perhaps they can help coordinate that

My goodness, for some reason I didn’t even think about calling my parish …
that’s a good idea and I will definitely follow up on it if need be.
Thank you!

REMEMBER, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly to thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Lord please help the phoenix with their transportation. Please allow the car to be fixed in time so they can receive the gift of mass or barring that please provide transportation. Thank you Jesus, Amen.

UPDATE:

Thank you very much to all you kind Prayer Warriors who prayed … It turned out that I was able to have the car repaired today. I am very grateful that a car place was able to take me … One repair shop who was closed down today for the long holiday weekend was kind enough to refer me to their competition, who I was able to call this morning. Otherwise, I would not have known to call them. And amazingly, they were able to fit me in at the last minute even though one of their mechanics was on vacation.

This also means that I can attend my scheduled Hour of Adoration this Sunday night. Even if I had managed somehow to come up with another way to get to Mass without my car, getting to Adoration late at night would have been another hurdle and I likely would have had to cancel Adoration this week.

I missed a day of work, but things could have been much worse.

Please know that I will pray for all of you.

:blessyou:

Great news. God Bless you. Give a hug to Jesus in the blessed Sacrament for me.
