This new life that i’ve embarked upon has made be cut down or try to give up certain sin’s in my weekly life.

Less masterbation, the thought that i can no longer have sex on a night out, the fact that i have to refrain from getting angry at people that have hurt me, the fact that i have to forgive people even though i truely can’t.

I was listening to a christian song today, ‘How great are thou’ i suddenly started kicking things around in a mocking way and just getting angry at the limitations that are expected from me.

I think i’m losing my mind or could it be satan?

You say this is a new life you have embarked upon. Anytime you do something that radically changes your life, it will be difficult. I know from experience that masterbating is very addictive and something lots of people struggle with. Jesus asks us to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Him. That is no easy task, but a worthwhile one that you will be rewarded for. Remember that you have to have a Good Friday to get to an Easter Sunday. Your struggle will make you holier in the end. Don’t give up and pray to Saints like Maria Gorretti, Mary Magdalene, and Thomas Aquinas. Also ask for the intercession of the Blessed Virgin. For that and the issues of forgiveness and anger, ask the Holy Spirit to come into your heart, dwell in it, and purify it.

Thank you, I think if anything, people who come into the faith later on in life should look to mary magalene who of course was riddled with demons from the life she lived in deep sin, i can really see the importance in parents bringing their children into church at a young age as us late comers have had a big taste of sin which is not easy to shake off.

Emotions are not bad in themselves. To allow them to turn to deliberate thoughts or feelings is what is bad.

Push away all the bad acts (including ALL self-abuse! it is commanded and really is possible and even enjoyable to have such control!) however you can, including by putting obstacles in the way (like cold showers, computer by the window, devotional objects near your bed, for example!)…

The desire to do good is itself a grace already acting in your soul. Give thanks for it!

Peace brother…

From what I’ve read of other posts you also have a really difficult home life. That’s a lot to cope with, and you’re trying to ditch maladaptive coping behavior (sinful, so they aren’t really helping at all), but you may not have much yet to rely on that’s healthy. That’s a common pitfall for people when they try to stop doing things that are harmful.

You might consider counseling to help you. Your priest could be a great resource, or social services office at your parish if you have one, or call your local Catholic Charities. They’ll know a lot about resources that can help you, because that’s their job. 🙂

God bless you!

Well it’s definitely not Satan , you just suffer from frustration on several levels ,
You just need a healthy diet and change in lifestyle,
You need to stimulate your mind in other directions ,
How about try writing. ?
Write a Novel with several characters, or some other interest to occupy your mind,

Anger arises from unfulfilled desires which arises from attachments to the objects of desire (likes and dislikes). These attachments may be to what is sinful. We do penance to break attachments to sin.

Mercy is the** willingness** to help anyone in need, especially in need of pardon or reconciliation.

It could be attachment to these sins. As Christians we need to fight the “passions”. At first its painful but later it becomes a joy. Its not a limitation to live a pure life… Its true freedom. The “flesh” though would rebel at first, and impurity is closely tied to anger. Try to reflect on the beauty of purity and pray for a love of purity, go to Confession often and give up totally these sinful actions… If you fall, make an intention to not sin again and keep trying without getting discouraged. The feeling that its all a limitation would one day go away…

You could seek a regular Spiritual Director… a Priest. For bringing up these habits in conversation with a Priest will give you greater insight.

There is a difference also between a habit and an act of will. Full consent of the faculties is something only a Priest, I beleive, can explain to you. For this reason spiritual direction is so helpful.
