Hello,
Compared to many prayer intentions I’ve been reading mine is pretty insignificant, but I hope you could say a small prayer for my dental procedure Wednesday. I’m having all my wisdom teeth taken out at the request of my dentist. I’m in my 50’s and am kind of nervous about it. I hear it can be pretty rough the older you are and I tend to be a bleeder.

For what it’s worth, I am an evangelical Protestant Christian and I realize that most of you are Catholic. I am fond of Catholicism and hope the fact that I am not Catholic doesn’t stop you from praying for me. I would really appreciate it.

May the Lord bless everyone who reads this. May He be with you in your time of need, also.

.

I had my wisdom teeth taken out and I didn’t feel a thing. Modern dentists are quite amazing. Anyways, I pray that it will go well for you tomorrow. 😉

I’m praying for you too. I had my wisdom teeth extracted 5 years ago (in my late 40s), with no complications. My teeth have given me no troubles since then.

Prayers that your wisdom teeth procedure goes smoothly said.

Mary.

Hi Tommy999,

Your surgery is in my prayers and I have now discovered (thanks to your post) the patron saint of dentistry-Saint Apollonia. I’ve had the surgery myself and all went well for me; may you be equally blessed!

I pray that the procedure goes smoothly and you heal quickly.

By the way, Catholics can and certainly should pray for anyone of any faith, or no faith at all, since there is one God and we are all his children. Even the word catholic means (from its Greek roots) concerning the whole, or universal.

Praying for you, friend. I have a near-phobia of the dentist, thanks to a childhood incident. I am certainly praying for a painless, anxiety free procedure and no complications!

Praying for you. I had my wisdom teeth out with no complications. Avoid solid food for a few days and you’ll be fine. Ice cream and sherbet!

hi. praying for the extraction of your dental procedure to go smoothly.
I had mine out in 1969. Back then you had to have the procedure done at a hospital. So it is nice you can have it done at a dental office now.

A side note - we pray for everyone here equally.

Praying for you! I always get so nervous when I go to the dentist, so I understand you! Praying for a painless procedure!

Thanks to all for your prayers. The procedure is this afternoon where I live. I am glad to hear most of you who have had the same procedure had no complications. I am praying for that, also.

Like Tablefor9, I haven’t had a pleasant history with dentists so that is part of my concern.

When I was a child, I would have fillings done without any kind of anesthetic because my father said he couldn’t afford it. However, the oral surgeon I am going to has a lot of experience, so I am happy about that.

Thanks to jeannetherese for looking up the patron saint of dentistry. I wasn’t aware there was one.

Prayer for toothache to St. Apollonia
**
0 Glorious Apollonia, patron saint of dentistry and refuge to all those suffering from diseases of the teeth, I consecrate myself to thee, beseeching thee to number me among thy clients. Assist me by your intercession with God in my daily work and intercede with Him to obtain for me a happy death. Pray that my heart like thine may be inflamed with the love of Jesus and Mary, through Christ our Lord. Amen. 0 My God, bring me safe through temptation and strengthen me as thou didst our own patron Apollonia, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Haha, that doesn’t stop me in the slightest! I’m glad you reached out to us. 🙂

St. Gabriel, St. Raphael, pray for us. Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come, Thy Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Eternal God , in whom mercy is endless,
and the treasury of compassion inexhastible ,
look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us ,
that in difficult moments we might not despair
nor become despondent , but with great confidence ,
submit ourselves to Your Holy Will ,
which is love and mercy itself . Amen

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

Hey Tommy 999,
Code:
doesn't make any difference what you are...however, it's nice to know you are Christian...I will petition St. Apollonia to guide and assist your Oral Surgeon through your procedure

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.
