Hello,

I’m a Catholic student from a Catholic school. Recently there have been “weird” things going on. Our Catholic school was built upon a former cemetery, the new building (built in some recent year ago) was blessed as custom. Now a classmate of mine saw a hand appear in their picture, this “ghost” became the stimulus to the re-blessing of the school by our director. And now, just this past week there have been some reports of a these paranormal activities in different classes. Actually, our teacher saw one. Then, in our class, some of my classmates saw some in different hours and days and they were very afraid. Fearful of being possessed but not seeing one, I decided to wear the medal of St. Benedict. Through the years, for me, ghosts are just in the imagination caused by the psychological effect from what we see popularized by the media. I just believed in evil spirits.

My point in posting are these:
  1. How will I help my classmates?
  2. How will these supposed phenomenon end?
  3. Can sacramentals help us?
  4. Will exorcism be needed in this situation?
Thanks. :knight2:

Is the chaplain aware? If not, he needs to be made aware.

If the chaplain is aware, he should notify the bishop… the bishop can decide to send the diocesan exorcist to determine if exorcism is needed.

Pray. Pray often, it is your shield against the devil and his works.

Thanks Aramis and here are the answers to your questions:

Well, our school has no chaplain. Our director ( the one in charge) is a priest and he definitely knows this because he was the one who re-blessed the building. And, I do not know if we have a diocesan exorcist. I was informed that there are only 2 exorcists in our country. 👍
:blessyou:

Whether or not you are actually being beset by demons of some sort, I suggest you do not contribute to the hysteria that often comes with such activity. What starts out as something rightly or wrongly labeled as demonic acitvity or paranormal becomes mass hysteria with students seeing ghosties and demons around every corner. I’ve seen it before this.

Good news: The best thing you can do to help your classmates is pray hard and DON’T FEED INTO THIS. You say things like, “Well, God is stronger than any demon or ghost.” And you say NOTHING MORE about it.

I take it adults are present at your school. Adults are in charge. They will do what is necessary for the safety of the students. If the students do not feel the faculty and staff are doing their part to protect them, they should contact THEIR PARENTS. That’s what parents are for.

So do not write the bishop. Do not tell the chaplain (who no doubt is well aware and sick and tired of the whole matter by now). Tell your mother and father, or whoever has custody of you. Your classmates can tell their mothers and fathers. Let the adults handle the situation. Cooperate with them. It’ll solve your problems a lot faster than having a bunch of underage kids contact the bishop, who would be well within his rights to chalk the whole thing up to hysteria. He’s more likely to believe adults. Just that simple.

If you are concerned enough to ask publicly, then you should discuss this with the director (who, if he is a priest, is also by default, the chaplain).

You have the right as a Catholic to discuss the issue with the priest responsible. He’s aware, and if he’s not been able to deal with it, he should involve the bishop. That’s his job, as a person entrusted with the care and teaching of the faithful. It’s also his call.
